Damn Houston!
I usually like Phil Steele but Terrell Stanley will not be playing this year because of a car accident so there is no way he should be listed first team all conference.
DL Terrell Stanley, East Carolina

He's out for the year with injuries sustained in a car crash.
DL Terry Williams, Memphis

Do you have one too Memphis, or is this supposed to be ECU's Terry Williams?
Poor list imo.

these are made weeks/months ago, and are just released now because the magazine is coming out tomorrow ....so there is normally an error here and there because of updated rosters

charles sims was first team AAC preseason rb despite transferring last year

No, I meant do they have a defensive lineman named Terry Williams.

none on their roster
basically every single ucf lb/secondary made the list in one of the 4 teams
will be really interested to see if they can live up to the hype

Yeah, that is ECU's Terry Williams. A typo by Phil.
lol All of our (Houston's) WRs are on the 4 teams.

I think we're going to have one of the best WR units in the country. I just hope our OC is better than he was 2 years ago.
Thanks for the heads up. This is on the Father's Day procurement list. Lots of Tiger love. 02-13-banana

I got confused as I scrolled too far and wound up looking at the ACC selections. I know it doesn't mean anything, but I found the release order interesting. First, SBC and MAC, then INDY, CUSA and MWC, followed by AAC and ACC.

I watched them beat the sh*t out of our OL last Fall at BBVA.

We were lucky to win that game.
Despite the couple of ECU typos, Phil Steele is generally highly regarded, and I particularly like this year's selections, lol.

I actually think Memphis could finish higher than they will likely be predicted, and could surprise some folks. Our biggest problems last year were depth and experience. For the first time in several years, we are back to 85 scholarships, and our core players have moved to mostly sophs and juniors. A far cry from a few years ago, when we were in the bottom 5 of all FBS schools, and actually ranked behind dozens of FCS teams.

Just for comparison, here is how each AAC team fared, all selections:

UCF - 17
Houston - 16
Cincinnati - 15
USF - 11*
Memphis - 11
Tulsa - 10
ECU - 8
Tulane - 7
SMU - 7
Temple - 6
UConn - 3

*One player named as both KR and PR, 4th team, only counted once.

FIRST TEAM ONLY:

Houston - 7
UCF - 5
Memphis - 3
ECU - 3
Cincinnati - 3
Tulane - 3
USF - 2
UConn - 1
Temple - 1
Tulsa - 0
SMU - 0
Harper's not even Temple's best RB. He's very steady, but he's more of a power/finesse RB. Zaire Williams is much more of a home run threat. Kyle Friend 3rd team anything is ridiculous. He's one of the best centers in the country and manhandled Notre Dame as a sophomore. I have no idea why they have Robey on 4th team. They were better off picking one of our JUCO safeties especially Alex Wells.
who does everyone think is the biggest omission

RB Lyle McCombs from uconn?
maybe smu rb preston line should have made it over Daniel Gresham?
James Flanders rb from tulsa?
Tyus Bowser DL houston?

i know smu graduated all the WR but just on style of play alone (air raid/run and shoot), i know for a fact they'll have more than 1 3rd team wr, and ucf likely wont finish with 3 top 3 team wr, because of qb play
