Said a number of times that Tulsa is the best of the new programs coming in this season.
Hell Yeah...cracked the top 150!

I could not care less about how women's tennis does... or lacrosse, or anything outside of football and men's basketball. UC does just fine in both of those.

You might not care, but those rankings do not cast a very good light on UC's athletic department as a whole. At 201st, UC is tied with schools like Morehead St (OVC), Bradley (MVC), Fairleigh Dickinson (NEC), Georgia State (Sun Belt), Hampton (MEAC), Jackson State (SWAC), etc. Not exactly company most athletic departments want to keep...

Once again... could not care less. I just want UC to compete in the sports that count.
How in the world could UC rank that low? Has to be misprint.

My guess is it's the same way Temple did. It’s kind of tough for Temple to get points in the winter when they only participate in only 6 of the 13 sports measured.
UC finished 173 last year. These standings include the first grouping of Spring sports. There's still W Rowing, Softball, M Golf, T&F and Baseball to go. Last year, Memphis finished with 229 points which was good enough for 86. Currently, the Tigers have 218 points and are ranked 75.

UC doesn't sponsor these sports that are calculated in the D1 cup standings:

Field Hockey
Men's Ice Hockey
Men's Wrestling
Men's Lacrosse
Women's Rowing
Women's Softball
Men's Tennis

Thus, UC doesn't have 7 out of 27 sports... greater than 25%. No wonder UC doesn't do well in the cup standings each year.

Think most AAC schools could say the same. Doubt many of our schools offer 20 or more of the sports counted

Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- ten women’s and ten men’s. Even if UC sponsored 27 sports, it would only be able to count 20 of them towards the points total.

UC currently sponsors 9 men's sports and 10 women's sports (Track and Field is divided into Indoor and Outdoor and each is counted separately). While UC might be hurt a bit by not sponsoring a higher number of sports, there are plenty of athletic programs that sponsor the same number of sports or less that ended up ranking significantly higher (e.g. Tulsa, SMU, UCF, etc). "We don't participate in enough sports" might be a valid argument for ending up in the 100-150 range. It definitely isn't a valid argument for why UC ended up in the 200s.

You seem to be responding quite a bit for someone who doesn't care. 05-stirthepot

You seem to care quite a bit for a fan of school that is done in the AAC.

But the thing is, people who matter care about this. People more important than you. Yes the Cup has major flaws, but so do many other metrics. We as the AAC should have an immediate goal of <150, and STRIVE for <100.
We need to get our M & W soccer back up in the Top 20 and with improvement in M Bball, we should be all right, maybe in Top 50. We were in top 20 one year not so long ago, so it can be done even without all those sports to choose from.
