I hate the Steelers more than ever. If that's possible.
Hopefully Ike can land somewhere. A tackle that big and quick doesn't come around every day.

Was he not somewhat competing against Hubbard though?
Very hard for any FA to stick. The NFL is a whole different ballgame and right now in OTA's that are making decisions based on grass drills and how they project rather than actual performance

Eh. A semi sorta joke.

I was, God help me, a Houston Oilers fan for many years, and the road to the Super Bowl ran through Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately, the Steelers had Bradshaw, Harris, Swan, Greene, Ham, Lambert...

I hated those sumbitches, and I've had no reason to change my mind.

I respect the franchise, but I'd root for bammer before them.

a fan of pasterini's pastel pansies
Oilers were my #2. Being a Cowboys fan I share the Steeler hate. That said I cannot think of any scenario where I would root for the Criminal Turds. ;-)

Pansy? You must mean Franco "better run out of bounds, they might hit me" Harris.

We had Earl Campbell, a linebacker playing running back who lived to run CB's and safetys over.

Of course, Earl is also a physical wreck today, its all he can do to walk from his truck to his front door, but still...

Watch the run at 0:33. Stay with it, you'll see some Steeler clips too.
The dome was LOUD during that period. Fun times.
Yeah, when I think of Earl Campbell, "pansy" is not the term that springs to mind.

1979 AFC championship Steelers 27 Oilers 13. Campbell was healthy and rushed for 15 yards on 17 attempts.

Franco rushed for 12120 yards during his career and averaged 4.1 yards a carry. Campbell rushed for 9407 yards and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Maybe Earl should have run out of bounds more.
Bum ran Earl 25-35 times a game, out of the I formation. In the NFL.

He got used up, because he'd be damned if he'd step out of bounds or lay down. He delivered nearly as many hits as he took, and both took their toll on him.

He got used up, hell, he wanted it that way... but he paid a terrible price.

That Oiler-Miami Monday night game, his rookie year? I never saw another performance quite like it. He was a true beast.
