This weekend, I'm making priority on going to a parade in Littleton with my fellow Lions.

I'm primarily going to show support, and to pay my respects to the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us.

I also am going to make sure and thank each vet, serviceperson that I see for what they do for us. I hope you all can find it within yourselves to do the same if you come across one. They deserve our reflection and the living vets deserve our gratitude.
Thanks for posting.

I agree:).

I recently sat on a plane next to a guy who turned out to be Special Ops in the Army. He and a number of others had been flown into Costa Rica for a few days of "R and R". It was sponsored by the Wounded Warriors Project.

The stories he told me and the pictures he showed me, along with the humble tone and smile he used made an impression on me that I'll never forget. Guys with limbs and faces blown off, who's lives and families have been shattered, who only wanted to go back into the chaos to be with and support their friends who continue the mission. His manner literally made me feel unworthy to listen.

My world view has REALLY been shaken up since Iraq. I have been a naive fool for much of my life.

Regardless of the "rightness" of the mission, the dedication and willingness to sacrifice that many of our service men and women have and continue to make for you and I deserve my most sincere and heartfelt respect and gratitude.

After today, I know exactly how you felt.
Three years ago, I spent a week on a bike ride from DC to Virginia Beach with 200 wounded vets. Some of these guys were missing multiple limbs, and most of them were suffering from PTSD due to several deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a life-changing experience and gave me a great appreciation for what these guys and gals go through.

Since that bike trip at least 3 of the soldiers I rode with have committed suicide and one has received the Medal of Honor.

Yesterday the ride began again, and started with a rousing send off at the residence of VP Joe Biden.
Our civilian leaders (and military chiefs who want to play "real" war games) have to quit sacrificing our young people in foreign wars without clearly defined goals or exit strategies.

I met up with friends from SE MI in downtown Detroit over the weekend. Was a blast.

What color socks did you wear with your Birkenstocks?
I don't wear birkenstocks, Sally.

Right.
Do you write your jokes yourself? Because they're not very good.
Oh......the one I deleted was money, but you would have pouted for yet another year.
You should delete more of your own posts, the board would appreciate that.

Coming from you with your high functioning, socially inept outbursts, that's hilarious.

Point? You're here posting as well. You guys are calling the kettle black, and I only use one ID. Unlike you and a few others here.

Now go drink some milk, I hear it helps with your nerves and helps you control your outbursts.
What other nicknames do I use here? Take your time.
You've busted yourself, for crying out loud. Not that it was important enough to note, anyone who goes through all the trouble to do that isn't worth debating....like this for example.

I'm through with you, hope your outbursts aren't scaring your co-workers, today.
