Q: Is Ga Tech planning on jumping to the Ivy League or something?
This is getting plain ridiculous now. This has to be Gregory's last year. Not ACC material.

Amazing...around 10 years ago Georgia Tech was playing for the NCAA Title...long ways from Lethal Weapon 3...

Might as well. IMO it comes from the top. The arc of decline follows PERFECTLY with the retirement of Homer Rice as AD and the attrition of his hires thereafter. I mean Homer Rice's last hires were all epic.

Basketball: Bobby Cremins (retired, Lethal Weapon 3, Final Four, tons of legends, "Point Guard U")

Football: George O'Leary (left for ND, only ACC team other than FSU to win an ACC title in 90's, recruited nationwide, Heisman runner-up (who shoulda won), tons of major draft picks though admittedly not many high first rounders)

Baseball: Jim Morris (left for Miami, recruited the CWS team with Garciaparra, Kevin Brown, and Jason Varitek)
could you imagine Shaka Smart with the ability to easily recruit all the ATL talent in his backyard.

Only if he can get them in Georgia Tech apparently...

Convenient excuse for mediocre coaching, imo.
