Play will resume 9:30 am Friday.
On Friday, freshman Kevin Reilly shot the best round of the day (66: five birdies, no bogies), and the Rice team had the 6th best score of the day (285), as the Owls moved into 12th place, 13 shots ahead of last-place Bethune-Cookman.

With one round remaining in the Raleigh regional, Rice is only two strokes from T10 and six shots from T6.

Individually, Reilly is now T18 at even par (76-66/142//E). Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans (66-68/134//-8) has a one stroke lead over three other golfers.

The top three teams are Georgia Tech (540), Washington (556) and Kentucky (560).

Top 5 teams advance to the NCAA Championships and unfortunately there is a bit of a separation between 5th (Florida State -1 overall) and 6th (+5). Realistically, the Owls are going to have to play great today and hope Florida State or Texas A&M (-3) falters, but it's nice they rebounded so well after Thursday's rains. I think we could have a top-25 team next year and I see we've already got a commitment from a top Colorado junior for the 2015-16 season.

Unfortunately, it's not happening for the Owls today. with 2-4 holes left, they're +15 for the day. South Alabama has been worse (+20 with only one hole left) ... these teams are currently tied for 11th at +26 overall.

If the Owls finish strong, they can finish 11th, but there's quite a distance to the next higher group (all with some holes to go):

10th -- Minnesota -- +20 (+15 today)
T8th -- Memphis -- +17 (+8 today)
T8th -- Wake Forest -- +17 (+12 today)

At the top, Georgia Tech (-29/-1 today) is widening its lead, now 18 strokes over Washington (-11/+1 today). Also solidly in the top five are A&M (-3/Even today) and Kentucky (Even/+8 today).
Like the women's tennis last week, congrats on a great run and a great effort. Bigger and better things in the future.
