ACC votes to keep 8 game conference football schedule. Yay!
I guess I am in the minority here but I don't see this particular vote as a big deal. They adopted or are going to adopt something similar to the SEC with 8 conference games and one more against a school from the other main football conferences or Notre Dame. So VT and NC State will have to schedule a game every year against a Big Ten, B12, PAC12, or SEC school.
For instance, NC State's non-conference schedule would be unacceptable this year with Ga. Southern, ODU, South Florida and Presbyterian. One of these schools will have to be replaced with a school from the Big Ten, B12, PAC12, or SEC school.
Now what it did do was take pressure off of VT to redo their football schedules in the future years that involve games with ODU.
Another fallout from this is the American AC schools may find it tougher to schedule. For instance, if NC State was looking for 3 "guarantee" games, they may be less inclined to schedule USF or ECU or UCONN... But then again, strength of schedule is suppose to matter...

As I said in the other thread, looks like a win for ODU. Would love to see a UVA matchup and several others. Great news.

Les Geaux's thread was up first. I don't know what time zone he's set in his preferences but his was up first. I plan on creating one myself. 2 isn't enough.

Hehe maybe something weird with csnbbs. I was here most of the afternoon, and saw steeler's post but didn't see Les Geaux's until I got back from softball about a half hour ago..

When the ACC does nothing to alter "their" conference schedule and two threads from an ODU board on a C-USA site are created.....it's officially the off-season.

Probably meant 14 or mis-counted the East Carolina game.
That's what I figured, likely miscounting the ECU game.
With the exception of that one obvious error, this is about as good an evaluation of the Monarchs as I can imagine being written. I liked the sound of his most optimistic prognostication. However the season winds up, it's going to be a hoot!
