...as running back. This should be interesting!

Bears to try Jordan Lynch at RB
If he could prove himself to be dependable back-up RB, he could give the team some nice versatility as they could perhaps only carry 2 QB 's but have Lynch around "in a pinch" and of course he could give you some interesting run-pass options out of the backfield and would likely be a great special teams player with his speed and footwork.

That was the thought with Julian Edelman getting drafted by the Patriots back when the Wildcat was taking off everywhere...after 5 NFL seasons he has yet to throw a pass. RB wouldn't be my 1 st choice for Lynch, slot receiver, returner or even CB.
I like the poll on they have on espn

Will former Eastern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch succeed as a running back in the NFL?

I see him as a decent utility player. 2nd or 3rd RB that usually gets a handful of carries per game and contributes on special teams as a gunner or blocker.

What??!! You mean that you guys at NIU didn't realize that you were borrowing him from EIEIO?

In all seriousness, good luck to JL. Hope to see him stick and make his mark.

Don't want to demean interns, but did an intern do it? (maybe a former Eastern Michigan student who had too many to drink? 03-drunk).

Just be glad you didn't end up as the Northern Ohio Rockets.
I really think Lynch has a very good chance at making the Bears' final roster....he can do so many things.

More realistically, the Southern Michigan Rockets.

No, no, no! We gave up Toledo in exchange for the UP. In my mind, this means we won the border war. 05-stirthepot

Wisconsin didn't seem to mind giving it up.

Growing up in Central Ohio, that's more or less how I heard it ... Ohio and Michigan had a border war, Ohio lost and got Toledo.
Thread-jack!
Regarding Lynch, he's got enough flexibility to be interesting for the practice squad if they don't want to pick him up for the active line-up.
He was swamped by the media after the first practice today.
The "border war" consisted of a two groups of guys slogging through the swamps deliberately trying to avoid each other because neither side really wanted to get shot in a dispute over swamp land. As a proud resident of Ida TWP, MI, I agree that we won that argument. The UP is a great place to visit during the three week period when there's no snow on the ground.
