Remember the Alamo....
Interesting. Both the Alamo and Taxslayer (fka Gator) have now moved to January 2. With the Alamo featuring the B12 runnerup vs. the P12 runnerup, and claiming the 6:45 pm ET time slot, it seems pretty likely that the Taxslayer will be a late afternoon start or possibly be moved to ESPN2.

Do these bowls really get that much more money by being the TaxSlayer bowl instead of the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl?
The B12 has set up a nice configuration of football bowl games. "Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said "We have maintained a strong postseason presence in Texas, added a Florida destination, continued our exposure in the West, and added a driveable destination.""

Big 12 Football Bowl Agreements
The no opposing Network is very interesting. Does ESPN still have the Taxslayer Bowl? 6:45 EST seems like an odd time. You would think they would have tried for to have the Jacksonville Game at 5PM EST and the Alamo 8:30 EST. But like the bowl tie-ins, I doubt anything it truly set in stone.

The 6:45 EST start time makes me think ESPN could be aiming for a quadruple-header (!!!) on 2-January. Something like this:

12:00 Gator or some other Bowl (e.g., Belk, Independence, Liberty)
3:30 As above
6:45 Alamo
10:00 Insight

The Liberty Bowl had a 2-January date the last time the 2nd fell on a Friday (2009), so I would lean to that as your "other" bowl.
Sounds logical.
