Interesting to see someone so far from the MAC examine our strengths and weakness fairly accurately. As for our ranking, I can see why it's hard to make a case for something higher than this after last season...
As for his point about DeBoer's offense, he's stated he'll be running a more run-pass balanced then he has previously. Of course, how couldn't you with the backfield we have this season?

Dear Pudge,
Check the MAC board. Myerberg has been way off on his pre-season predictions. Does that mean that I would say MAC West champs, no, but I think we have a team that can have a season with more than two wins. We have at least a 50/50 chance of beating both Western and Akron, and remember Ball State lost many important players including their quarterback, and Central does not make me hold my breath.
The only part of Myerberg's report that will make or break our season is the defense. If, we can be much better with our defensive effort, our upcoming season could be as good as English's best year 6-6.

Obviously these rankings are a crap shoot and just for fun at this point, but I love our schedule this season
ODU, Morgan St, Akron, WMU, UMASS.
If those aren't considered winnable games then boot us from D1

That reminds of Mike Singletary when he went to be the HC at San Francisco. Seemed like he was always yelling at somebody on the sidelines. And he didn't last long. I contrast that with somebody like our previous coach Doeren who seemed to consider it a teaching moment rather than a screeching moment. I bet the players just tuned English out after a while.

I think EMU fans tuned out English after a while as well. I heard he has a new book coming out 1,001 Coaching Excuses. I think we heard them all when he was head coach.
