Well to be honest, it doesn't. But let's see where the program actually is.
There are 349 colleges playing D1 basketball. So if you go to the exact middle of the RPI rankings, that would be #175. 174.5 to be exact.

I could only get the RPI's from the last four seasons, but I think it's pretty indicative of where we stand. Our average ranking for the past four seasons is 184, with the best being 172, and the worse being 201, and three of the four seasons are worse than 175. So to be honest, we're not even mediocre, as some would like to suggest.

Is this acceptable? Obviously it isn't to some who are failing to renew their season tickets due to their perception that the lack of action on the part of the administration to make changes necessary to elevate the program to a higher level is the cause, and that changes need to be made. But what worries me is that the administration might wait until it is too late to make those changes. And if changes are not made after this next season, regardless of the wins and losses of this one year, others will cancel their support also. As a long time supporter, I would hate to see this happen.

My suggestion would be that Chancellor Anderson and Athletic Director Chris Peterson form a committee of committed season ticket holders, large and small contributors to the program, and sponsors to set up meetings to see what steps can be taken to reverse the apathy now apparent in our program. When you look around and see all the empty seats at most games, it's discouraging for the players and the fans who do attend the games on a regular basis. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you can't stay on the same path and get different results.

This is not intended to play the blame game, but an honest request to begin taking positive action to make our basketball program much better than it is at this moment in time, and make UALR, Little Rock's Division One basketball team!04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers

If you think this is what should be done, and you want the AD and chancellor to set up this committee and discuss the program, try putting it on the regular board where everyone can see it.

I know they probably have a worm that is on the private board, but I have noticed that usually when anyone criticizes Chris Peterson, the chancellor, or Shields, they always do it on the private board where the above mentioned doesn't know what they say. Or at least they hope they don't know. But, don't forget the worm. He's lurking on this board too. He knows all.

I swear I thought I had put this on the public board. Inside. Can you move this to the public board? You have my permission to do so. I guess I'm really getting senile if I can't recall where I posted something.04-cheers
