Article on Hustlebelt details a $20m donation to BG's basketball program, the largest of its kind in MAC history.
Here's how MAC teams currently rank in Men's Bball expenses for 2013-

#100 $3,222,448 Ohio
#150 $2,142,779 Buffalo
#153 $2,051,314 Akron
#166 $1,900,435 Miami
#167 $1,867,684 Western Michigan
#168 $1,855,599 Kent State
#169 $1,847,789 Toledo
#196 $1,666,104 Central Michigan
#205 $1,608,150 Eastern Michigan
#213 $1,561,611 Ball State
#230 $1,460,613 Bowling Green
#234 $1,447,289 Northern Illinois

With Bill Frack playing the part of T Boone Pickens of the North will this be a game changer for BG or will they be the same ol BG, just more shiny? Feels like this has the potential to be a big deal.
I get the feeling that BG approached Jans (and maybe some other big assistants) and told him, "We have a nearly new arena on campus and a big donor ready to up our game as far as budgets go. We'll do our part to help you win here." That probably helped pull him away from Wichita, where he might've been next in line for their job if Marshall ever leaves.

This is certainly good news coming from BG. After the resurgence their football program has gone through, they could've easily left their basketball team to languish in obscurity, now it looks like they're not going to take the mediocrity of the Orr years anymore. The strength of the top of the MAC is certainly in question, but these last few years its looked like the bottom schools have lifted or started to lift themselves out of the abyss.
