Love the signing. Wish we could lock him in though with an early signing period.

He is not going to win any footraces, but we aren't recruiting him for his 40 time. dude wreaks havoc, held by jersey grab on every play. Likes to hit people.
JMU has also reportedly offered rivals three star quarterback Ross Bowers (son of new asst head coach John Bowers)

He also has offers from Colorado State and Montana. Timing could work out great. Redshirt freshman year and then be ready to step in as starter when Vad leaves.

I don't know if I'd agree about his timed speed...a 4.79 for a 255# DL is pretty solid. Heck...that's faster than that prep WR (who posted a 4.84) we supposedly just offered.

That WR must have been on crutches, with a pulled hammy and a nasty case of turf toe.

My comment was based off of the speed he displayed after picking off that pass in the highlight film- some big boys were catching up to him. but he is a beast.
Coaches are following Wesley McKoy (@wesmckoy) out of Toms River, NJ. Couldn't find much on him:

It appears he was at the Spring Game by his pics.

He also received an offer this weekend from Coach Withers. Definitely appears that our staff is putting us in a position to land some really quality recruits. Could the coaches be armed with new information that is making JMU a more attractive option for three star athletes?

when it comes to DL and OL people put way, WAY too much emphasis on the 40YD speed....it's very rarely used by these players. what really matters is "twitchiness"...and this kid has really quick moves with his hands and feet, keeps his head up too.....could be a great signing!

Thats a possibility!!! OR the most likely scenario is that the current coaching staff is better at recruiting than the previous.
Looks like another one of Vad Lee's teammates at Georgia Tech may be joining the Dukes. He was on campus for JMU's Student Appreciation Day. Seems like he could be a really nice pick up. I wonder how the GT coaching staff feels about Coach Withers lol

Interesting info in the comments. It appears that GT has issues somewhat often with athletes not finding the majors they want. Apparently GT is somewhat narrow with their academic major choices.

Now you just have to hold onto him...always a battle.

You are absolutely correct. JMU will have to work to hold on to a number of their big recruits. There are a number of programs in on our DL commit from Manchester High School. I am just glad to see that our staff is putting us in a position to get these types of athletes.

It's not battle if Alger & Bourne are impotent. He's gone after a short piece of time, simple as that...

Would make a nice addition. Son of a former NFL player.

If Robbins does transfer in wouldn't he be playing this upcoming 2014 season? Or are there some eligibility/transfer rules that I am not considering.

He has already burned his Redshirt.

Why? He is transferring down a level and would be eligible to play just like Lee.
