Syracuse doesn't control the ACC. They were/are a pawn; so they certainly didn't boot UCONN from the ACC. UCONN would have had to have been a member of that conference first.
As for the NBE, they didn't boot UCONN any more than Boise State did.

Marquette and DePaul weren't "originals"... You're seriously trying to shave a square peg to fit into a round hole. Show me any proof that UCONN talked about dropping football in a vain effort to play in the NBE.
Hell... They got PAID for the name. Those b*tches in the NBE revived an abandoned brand; and banished themselves to Siberia (FS1). The teams they invited Creighton and Butler are now without Stevens and McDermott. The NBE have become the jokes of CBB. They didn't even make it out of the first week; while the AAC have two very prominent jewels (BCS and NCAA MBB) in the trophy case.
The UCONN ladies may add more hardware yet; and don't even get me started on the NFL draft.
