The Tulane baseball head coach Rick Jones is not going to coach the remainder of the season for the Green Wave. He's had some health issues and his doctor feels like it's in his best interest to sit out the rest of the year (although some Tulane folks on the CUSA board said he's permanently retiring - the official notice says it's for the remainder of this year only).

WG said tonight that he knew about it, but wasn't going to talk about anything personal.
I liked this quote from Coach Graham in yesterday's New Orleans paper.

"You never get to leave on your own terms,” said Rice coach Wayne Graham, who at 78 and with a College World Series title should have earned that right, if anyone in his sport has. “Rick has lived and died here for years. He built this program. But this game has become so stressful since they deadened the ball, I’m not surprised he has health issues.”
