This is a direct answer from coach Campbell in response to my direct question. He will play at UT. He's a good kid that is only 17 with vast potential. The staff loves him. His knee needs rehab. I believed he gained over 850 yards in only 6 games last fall at over 8yards per carry. Due to his youth and injury the staff feels a grey shirt is appropriate.

Go Rockets !!!
That is too bad. I remember how excited he was about Toledo when he committed. I'm sure he will be a great addition to The University of Toledo.

Wish him the best, how often do greyshirts work out for us?
Hate to bring back this thread for this reason...but OL Ramone Miles (Toledo Central Catholic) is now medically disqualified to play football. His career is done, yet will remain on scholarship at The University of Toledo. Had serious knee problems, coach Campbell said his one knee is similar to a 9-year old's knee.
too bad for miles, anyone know how chris (green) norwood - seen in uniform on sideline but not in game, and navone mccrimmon are recovering from their knee injuries?

UT didn't know about this?

His bio says he had a knee injury junior year but he was still all-state last year as a Sr.

Wonder who medically disqualified him? If was UT, maybe he will pull a Justin Moss and just move on. In the event that he stays, I imagine that an equivalent scholarship can be found for him somewhere thru the University that will not count against the Football Program's limit on scholarships.

Hopefully but coach didn't say "football scholarship" did he? Maybe he means an alternative has already been found?

If he is remaining on football scholarship and if the coach goes, it won't be his burden and would be a bit of a disingenuous offer but perhaps still, the right one. If the injury happened as a result of Miles' efforts on behalf of UT or weren't otherwise hidden with intent from the University when he accepted the scholarship, I think keeping him on football scholarship the right thing to do.

I believe he will be on an academic scholarship. He's in the Engineering College, bright kid.
