Penalties a concern for Rodriguez

MORGANTOWN - Just for the record, the most-penalized Division I-A team in the country is Florida. The Gators, by the way, are 6-0.
The least-penalized team in the country is Memphis. The Tigers are 1-4 and rank just slightly better in penalties than does Stanford, which is 0-6.
Of course, none of that makes Rich Rodriguez feel any better about the recent rash of penalties committed by his West Virginia football team, but it at least serves as food for thought regarding how significant penalties are to relative success or failure.
The answer, apparently, is not much.
Still, Rodriguez is anxious to get the problem solved.
