2015 is shaping up to be a really tough OOC for the belt. Might not look good in the W-L but playing big teams means getting big coverage and we are in need of that.
One FCS game a year is worth getting six home games.

I agree, but there's more to it than that. Would you turn down a 2-1 with a program like Louisville if it meant one of those two years you went to Louisville you would end up with 5 home games?

Yes. Do not consider Louisville a big deal to play.

Yes. Do not consider Louisville a big deal to play.

Louisvile will be in the ACC next year and are a very good program, but sub in whoever you like regionally.

Miss State/UVA/WVU/GT etc

Who do you expect to be able to sign 1-1's with?

And you're foolish to turn down Louisville coming to Boone, they aren't giving you 1-1.

I will live without them. If a team will not do a 1-1 then doubt we ever schedule them.

I like the way ULM is doing it this year. They play five home games, with the 5th game being Wake Forest at home on ESPNU. Their three non-conference road games are against SEC schools and they will make $3.1 million from these three games. These games will probably get on TV as well.

An FCS game gets you nothing. It is a game that you are supposed to win and does not help the RPI at all. There is more risk than gain.

On the other hand, if ULM goes 0-4 OOC Next year...it would basically eliminate their bowl chances.

I've heard awful stories.

Visiting basketball radio crew needing umbrellas as a shield from batteries thrown by WV fans...

Bring 'em on. We don't like ANY Mountaineer, and ain't intimidated by anyone.

any chance we could get a home and home with them. probably not, but was wondering. It would be good exposure for them in Georgia (especially south Georgia).

no way in hell WVU comes to southern. at least not now. In 10 years if we continue to grow like we have, then I could see it happening.
Of course we would do a two for one deal with a P5 member (it would have a be a top 30ish program I'd think). During the years we play them away we'd play an FCS opponent, during the year we play them at home we'd play a big money game. While keeping our two running home and home series with G5 members.

6 home games in all years.

that seems optimistic.

I think you're missing my point.

I do think you may have a bit of an optimistic view of who you're going to bring in to Boone, would you guys consider playing in Charlotte if it meant getting a 2-1 against say South Carolina?

Anyway, your plan laid out above is fairly close to what we do, as I said in the six seasons between 2009-2014 we've had six home games every year but one. Sometimes when you start lining up more than one multi year deals, you end up like we did in 2012 where we're on the road at GT as part of a 2-1, on the road at Memphis as part of a 4-3, we bring in a FCS and then we just weren't able to find another good deal to get someone to Murfreesboro so we took a money game at Miss State.

I wouldn't have turned down the GT series, we got an attendance record for our home game and a three touchdown road victory in one of the two road games. I wouldn't have turned down the Memphis series, I wouldn't sign it today unless it was even, but that deal was negotiated back in 2007(Memphis was fresh off the Deangelo Williams years and we were still relatively new to FBS and multi year deals) as a 3-2 and eventually became 4-3 after we let them postpone a game. That series ends this year(we begin a 2-2 with Vandy next year) and we lead the series 5-1, so it ended up being a pretty good series for us.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have the goal of 6 every year, but unless you only sign 1-1's and never play more than one money game in a season, you're probably going to occasionally run into a sitituation like we did in 2012.

What's the boro like? I love for about 6 years in Franklin just outside Nashville and I loved that area but everytime I talk to old friends from Tennessee they really show a lot of disdain for it, would you know why?
