Things to take into consideration aside from on the field / on the court performance.
  • Recruiting
  • Facility Development on a per team basis
  • TV deal Money
  • TV deal exposure
  • Unforeseen Air Time (SCTOP10, for example)
  • more
The exposure was excellent for a new conference establishing an identity....
Whoops. I literally skipped the line about level of play. Should things like TV money and exposure really be considered when they will be multi-year factors?

Basketball exposure will be the same as this year, football exposure (supposedly) will increase.
A...if both UL and UConn had made the FF...A+
UCONN BASKETBALL AND UCF FOOTBALL......only hope ECU can add to AAC growth.......congratulations really to all schools who help put AAC in the national light.

fail
I give it an "A". If UConn wins the tournament, its an A+. Next year we become a hell of a presence in baseball as well. The issue of baseball coverage needs to be addressed. The AAC digital network needs to be covering a slate of 20-30 games at the VERY least. Our conference will be too much of a baseball presence to simply ignore. NCAA baseball is on its way to becoming the 3rd revenue sport. We need to get in front of that as a conference.
I voted A+

Everything everyone said the AAC couldn't possibly do, did.

Go AAC!!!
Football was a "C" until UCF beat Louisville and became a contender. The BCS win bumped the league up to a "B" in football. Temple, UConn, Memphis, and USF had really bad seasons. Seems like people forget about the bottom tier when the top does well. Its also the reason why nobody will care if Army or UMass stink if they join this league. Not trying to make this an expansion thread but conferences are judged by their best teams and not who finishes last.

Basketball has been an "A" all season long. Competitive and exciting conference race, a solid post season in both the NCAA and NIT. UConn, Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis, and SMU have all done their part to make the American a great basketball league. Does anyone care that Temple had an awful season?

Sorry.......made the corrections. Thanks as "Pirates Supporting Pirates" and now AAC:)
As good as could have been reasonably expected.

fail

That's why you type out "the American"! 04-cheers
I voted B+.

Good first year, unfortunately next year is another "first year".
No brainer A+. Nobody would have expected a BCS champ and a final 4 team and having 5 AAC basketball teams ranked for a long stretch. The tv deal is what it is, but should improve big time if the league stays intact. Nobody wanted to pay up for a league that was likely to fall apart. We might be in a 5-7 year period of no expansion so for the AAC that is good news.

Hopefully we can parlay this into another big year.
A with ucf and UConn results. B B- otherwise
A
would have been an A+ without cincy's postseason upsets in every sport
