That offensive foul at the end should have never been called. Morgan didn't have position, got grazed at best, and both scUM players tried to rake the ball.
From the refs angle it looked like a charge.

The game came down to that possession and the official decided it on a questionable call at best. That's the time of the game where you suck on your whistle and let the players decide it, unless there is a clear cut foul, which down there would usually go against the defense.

Officials deciding outcomes is getting old.
I saw it the same way CD. Questionable call with the game on the line.
He shouldn't have put it on the floor either way, but I thought that wasn't a charge.
I don't like any game to come down to an officials call. The good ones let the kids decide the game. Even the better scUM fans I know agreed although I am sure most of them are on their way to Wal-Mart for elite eight shirts.
Horrible way to end a game.
Of course there was the earlier hit out of bounds that tv showed multiple times with announcers all saying UM ball and refs gave ball to Tennessee.
If a referee "swallows his whistle" and DOESN'T make a call on a late play that should be a foul, isn't THAT an official "deciding the game" too?

Probably depends on whose ox is getting gored.
The CBS panel had a great take on that play, with Lavert collapsing down for the double team the Tenn. big guy should have dished the ball off to an open man..
They also didn't have a huge problem with the charge call especially after he dropped his left shoulder.....It doesn't take long to see who the Michigan haters are on this board...
I didn't see the game, but the blue seemed to do their best to hand Tennessee the game...
I agree on both statements. The ball should have gone to Michigan but the offensive foul was bogus.
I don't complain about referees normally but they need to change the rule on the defensive player flopping like Jordan did. He deserved an Academy Award for that.
There is an article in this week's SI about those offensive fouls close to the rim. Something needs to change.

I don't give a **** who was playing the game. The network guys called it a controversial call all night. On the foul called before the last play on the double team came and slapped at the ball and they called the tenn guy for the foul. No call happens their it probably goes to michigan anyway out of bounds off tenn. Neither foul would have been called in the first half of the game the way it was being called up to that point. They had called so few fouls that tenn screwed themselves not fouling enough to put mich on the line. My dad played football at Tenn so I have some bias but it was a crap way to end a game that up to that point the officials had stayed out of.

You could throw a rock any direction and find one that frequents this board, including me. I admit it, no shame in my game, I think that the only thing worse than scUM are their "fans".

I despise Michigan fans.

But I REALLY like watching John Beilein coached teams play basketball.
Weird they didn't set up same type ISO but with McCrae on that OOB play. He's really a tough guard off the dribble because he's a threat from deep too and extremely athletic. Thought it was a play on if anything but putting Jarnell Stokes 13 feet from the rim and having him go off the bounce is iffy either way. If the refs let it go UM probably gets possession on steal. Agree on Beilein. He's done it in so many different ways at so many places. Looked at their board one day and their "fans" bitching about recruiting lol. Guys developing pros left and right. Maybe he's got this/knows what he's doing? Lol
Had things gone the other way, you could have said UofM got jobbed on the replay of the out of bounds a few possessions earlier. Clearly off UT players hand and yet they gave it back after watching the replay.

Do I think the charge should have been called? Probably not. But like has been mentioned before, that player has to know that the double team is coming and he did lower his shoulder. So I understand the call. And I'm glad they called it.

I think we have seen both UofM and MSU get big leads and then try to milk the game away, only to let the other team get back into it. MSU did it against Harvard, UofM against Tennessee. There is a fine line between taking shots too quickly, and also slowing things down so much that you lose your offensive rhythm.

I for one am pulling for UofM vs MSU in the finals.

I agree on the choice of OOB play and that scUM gets the ball if no foul called. I do dislike scUM fans enough enough that when I type "sc" scUM is the first choice. My brother in law is firing the flames for me right now. He is a WMU grad and didn't even acknowledge they were in the tourney because of scUM. If we would have played scUM he would have had my niece in puke and blue.

I don't think Wal-Mart could handle that final.

I don't disagree with people's takes on the calls. I think scUM wins either way.

Agree, his teams have always been fun to watch as far back as I can remember. I like his adaptability to his players strengths as well.

Who lets a 7 footer hang around the permitter and launch 3's? LOL!
I said it right at the time, he shouldn't have put the ball on the floor, when he caught it I said that out loud, and he got exactly what he bargained for that time.
