Y'all annoying as hell walking around here in other schools apparel. We go to UC not Toledo, OSU, OU or where else. Smh.
Love it...although I wore my UC gear everywhere at Miami...maybe I need to sit this one out. LOL
Didn't Butch Jones go off on some co-ed who was wearing an Indiana shirt on campus a few years ago?
I'm with Ralph. Look this is going to happen but I think it happens at UC a lot more than it would at other big time schools. There's been a lot of strides in student pride the past few years but there are still many who see UC as their fall back or they just don't buy into being a proud Bearcat. Just keep being a great school with great teams and awesome gear and it'll get better and better.

The first time you wear togs from other schools at LSU, you get razzed so mercilessly you will never do it again. I wish UC students would do the same.

There's an element of "we must protect this house" that we need in Clifton, but sadly I think we're all too polite in the Tri-State to take those people to task. I'm glad we're polite, especially after living on the East Coast these past two years where people are more "aggressive" let's say, but you have to avoid being a doormat. Hard to strike a balance without coming off as a jerk.
I fibbed...won't sit this one out. 03-wink

While I would love having every one of the 40,000 someodd students on all UC campuses to be stoned on the zombie dust of the Cult of the C-Paw, the libertarian in me screams allow folks their own devices, be cool with it and leave them the heck alone. Like I said, I was one of those folks at another college but in UC's favor. Heck, one of our mods was a D1 student athlete on the ball diamond at that same school and he wears his UC gear too when we travel to Oxford every other year to visit for the annual exhibition game on the gridiron. All good.

It's nothing to get bent about. Wear your gear and be stoked about it. Forget about everyone else.

Not to mention most students are there to get an education, not to be a sports fan.
Quite simply, not enough students at UC care about our athletics, and even fewer care enough to make a big deal about it. I actually take pride in knowing that I dont go to a school that is so obssessed with athletic acheivement that we would scold someones attire

Student and fan apathy. Apathy even on a U C sports board.

Therein lies the problem.

I believe he told the girl to take the gear off and had someone buy her a UC shirt from the bookstore.

Agreed.

The 1st Amendment applies even when wearing your favorite team's clothes.
I wore my UC gear while attending Louisville. No one ever said a word to me and I attended classes with all the athletes. It was nice walking into class wearing a Conference USA championship shirt.
I don't think RDA4 is seeing 100's of students wearing other gear, but just enough that he wanted to point that out.
The student fans seem pretty engaged to me.
From RDA4's point of view, where you're busting arse and giving sweat and blood for your team, I think seeing those few just hits you the wrong way. That's all. GO CATS!
We could start by asking our medical school, hospital, and pediatric wing to stop selling Columbus State gear. Doubt any OSU affiliated medical entity sells UC stuff

What are you talking about? I don't recall ever seeing tO$U gear in UC's medical bookstore, and there hasn't been a "pediatric wing" in University Hospital for decades.
I think they sell to$u gear in the Psych Ward to patients with God Complexes.

CCHMC is considered the pediatric wing of University Hospital even though they are both stand alone institutions. Their gift shop sells Columbus State gear.

The gift shop across the street from Shriners Burn Institute, in a complex owned and operated by UC Health, sells Columbus State gear.
