I know this has been discussed on this board but I couldnt find the thread. Who are our known OOC opponents for next season. I know we play UNC away and we will be in the Atlantis tournament, but is there anything else known at this point? Does LSU make the return trip to Bartow?
Unless they back out or pay us a bunch of money, I think LSU is obligated to give us a return trip next year.

Were any of the crappy teams we played in the OOC part of a contract deal?
We go to Chattanooga this year. I think those are the only games we are certain of at this point.
We play at Chattanooga as well. It was a home and home.

With other games lots of rumors but nothing substantial.
Amy rumors swirling around??
Another power team home and home and possible renewal of Troy series. Nothing juicy.
The power team home and home is juicy. Do tell..
We don't know. Just that they are trying to get another one in here. Lol.
Haha.. Had to ask.

I hope we have a few more good rpi games on the dossier, bc what we have now won't cut it. It's a good start though.
A lot depends on that early tournament. There are some very good teams in there... if we can win some games. OTOH, we'll be early in what is very much a rebuilding year and we're going against some extremely tough competition.

We need some good OOC wins and not to lose to the bottom of our league... which we all know anyhow.
A rebuilding year? I know we lost a lot of seniors, but we had a pretty mediocre season. Usually a "rebuilding year" is after you lose a lot of players off a team coming off a great season.
We are replacing six guys. Yes it's rebuilding but we are not using "bricks".

I think the material is better IMHO.
UAB - rebuilding since 2006.
When you lose six guys, two of them full-time starters and two of them part time starters/first reserves in who got a lot of minutes, by definition you are going to be rebuilding.

Or to put it another way, Chad and C.J. are the only true starters we're bringing back. We have to integrate three more guys with them and figure out the rotation, plus add some talented freshmen and figure out where they fit in.

So what would you call it?
I'm cautiously optimistic because I feel we return our two best players. We also return 3 guys who saw significant minutes at the end of the year and a transfer who started in the acc. If we can add a juco big, I really think that helps our experience problem. If not, some freshmen are going to have to grow up quick. I truly expect this team to get better as the year goes on. We are going to experience growing pains though, there's no way around that.
Yeah I agree we could really use a player with experience coming in.

Are there any good juco post players or big men still available? We could even use a rebounder/garbage man type of olayer. Doesn't have to be a great scorer.

If there was a juco shooter available, I'd take him as well. We already have good depth at the forward/center position.
Don't forget the "sit out" from last year - Brown.
Just for fun, who will we bring back and add new at the following positions? Don't leave anyone out.
#1 and #2 -
#3 and #4 -
#5 (a "big") -
I don't know how deep we are at f/c. It really depends on how we play lee and Sullivan.

Right now we have:

1/2: Frazier watts brown Calhoun rideau norton
3/4: Cj Sullivan lee cokely
5: mehinti

Then we have Madison. He's kind of a g/f guy to me. One more big would be a definite plus in my opinion. We have several freshmen I know we are after, but I haven't heard any juco guys mentioned yet.(and id prefer not to until the guy is ready to sign)
I'd like to see:

Watts/Norton
Frazier/Madison/Riddeau
Brown/Sullivan
Washington/Lee
Mehinti/"Unknown Spring Signee"

Redshirt Calhoun and Cokley to balance things out

I don't think Haase will ever really redshirt basketball players unless they are transfers to save a year of eligibility or medical redshirts. With the small size of a basketball roster you don't bring in someone with the expectation of redshirting them. You save the scholarship and find someone that can come in and contribute the next season.
