I'm going to go ahead and assume that Jim Calhoun will take the job at BC because according to some ESPN source, Calhoun approached them about the job. They'd be nuts not to take him. With that being said, Do UCONN fans think this hurts your chances even more at getting into the ACC or helps? Me personally: I think this hurts. Calhoun will not be an advocate for UCONN if he takes the job and UCONN sinks further into oblivion. That's my opinion on this opinion board.04-cheers
There is a thread about this already on this board.

You have no clue about Jim Calhoun. That's all I will say.
I'd rather see him take the South Florida job and help build our conference. Besides, a Florida retirement sounds better than a rebuild in the ACC.

My fellow pirate, I'm looking at it from another angle. I'm saying that Calhoun will take the job. The other thread is debating whether he will or not. My question is will Calhoun be an advocate for UCONN getting into the ACC after he's taken the BC job.

03-banghead Yes, Calhoun is very anti-UCONN...There's nothing more he'd like to see than the utter demise of the program he spent 30 years building and based his legacy off of...He hand-picked Ollie as his replacement only because he knew Ollie couldn't win or recruit any kind of talent. It was just another way for Calhoun to sabotage the already "sinking into oblivion" UCONN basketball program...

It's posts like this that prove how little credibility this board has.

Well, it's a good thing we have you to give this board credibility.
My bad, Apparently Boston College is not interested in hiring Calhoun. Calhoun wants it, but won't get it. Now that's pathetic.

Jim Calhoun reportedly interested in BC job
March 21, 2014 By Steve DelVecchio

Jim-CalhounJim Calhoun has always stopped short of saying he is done coaching when discussing his future with writers and reporters. The 71-year-old is still very involved with the UConn basketball program, but would he consider a coaching return? ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reports that Calhoun is interested in the vacant Boston College job.

Calhoun stepped down at UConn because of his physical health. A cancer survivor, Calhoun officially announced he was leaving the Huskies shortly after breaking his hip in a bicycle accident in August of 2012. He recently said he is in very good health and was asked on Friday morning if he would be interested in coaching at BC.

“I would not be opposed to talking to anyone about basketball,” Calhoun said.

Calhoun has always remained true to his Boston roots. He grew up in Braintree, Mass. and coached at Northeastern from 1972-1986 before going on to win three national championships at UConn. Unfortunately for the legend, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported that BC is not interested in hiring Calhoun.

But you had to reply to it huh? You're pathetic, and you've only been following college sports for less than 10 years. what were you doing with your time before your college started up football?
