University of Maryland, Baltimore County?
WOW, that's a surprise. UT has been after him for more than a year. Obviously someone's leaving. I thought we really needed a big, but Stokes is very, very good.

Also had offers from NCAA tourney participants Delaware and Mount St. Mary's.

Niice, that kid has hops. Only 5'11" and he's throwing it down in that video! He also has great quickness. He looks to be a nice replacement for the post-Juice Brown days.
Well, next to the need for some more help in the post (particularly LOW-post), this was the other position we needed somebody at. With next season being Juice's last, it will be very nice having another true PG on the team. Our half-court offense just didn't look the same when Juice wasn't on the floor.

Is it possible that more than 1 player could leave? Part of me hates to see a "revolving door" in the program, but if we have a shot at a post player somewhere to go along with Stokes, that would require another scholarship...would Coach K do that? And, how do those rules work with transfers out and the academic requirements that cost us under the previous staff? Would this be a potential issue again if 1 or 2 players leave?
Glenn Graham, a high school sports beat reporter for the Baltimore Sun said this about Stokes:

"I think the Rockets got a solid guard. He's a 5-11/6-0 kid with very good game sense, handle and thrives in the big moment whether it's hitting the big shot or free throws or finding an open teammate. Very good on defense as well. He played big in helping both Baltimore City and Dunbar win state crowns the past two years."

As long as the player who leaves is academically OK then it doesn't hurt the school.
Aubrey Williams is an excellent student. I have to believe there are NO academic issues with him.
Can someone post some stats on this guy? 2 state champs in 2 years at 2 different schools...sounds like a true PG who can get his teammates involved in the offense.
from a Maryland HS bball recruiting site. stokes listed as #17 in the state. other players around his ranking with lots of solid mid major offers, a couple high major guys ranked a little above or below him as well. stokes was certainly a very highly recruited kid in terms of D1 offers. smallish and didn't have much interest from large programs but lots of mac type schools wanted him.

Thanks for the stats, DetroitRocket.04-cheers
Apparently Mr. Stokes has backed off his pledge to Toledo and will now be attending Fork Union Prep next year......

Ouch. So long as we remain injury-free, we should be OK for this year. Drummond will back up the point as he did last year. We better recruit like hell for a point guard for next year, though. I wonder if Josh Lemons would have stayed if not for Stokes' commitment.
Are there any quality transfers still looking for a place to play next season?
I'd try to find a JC at this point. Man, that hurts. Players, coaches...WOW.
Does anybody know if Kamu had any grade problems tha twould have caused this? Instead of going to a JC and being tied to two years a prep school would only be a year and he could be a part of 2015 class. If your jumping ships you don't usually jump from D1 offer to Prep school
Academics are the reason they go to prep schools. No way to know if he will ever be a Rocket.
