Yes! It would be great to have a local paper show support like this.

I've said it before on here, dayton media gives great coverage to both UD and wright state. They actually get much more front page and overall press than osu.

What a novel idea !!
- For the local rag to emphasize front page coverage of the hometown university. Most print media will have multiple articles leading up to and on game day for football and basketball. Instead, our beloved blade feels compelled to force feed coverage to us on big school state. Any day now, we will be informed about U.Meyers upcoming dental appointment, or that one of their star thugs has the symptons of a hangnail. 03-banghead
Now I understand why ohio state doesn't schedule in state schools. Yesterday proves their NOT the best in Ohio.
Congrats to Dayton.

It must be more difficult to fix tournament games.

Toledo gets mentioned as the last Ohio team to beat the Buckeyes in '98

I LOVE it! It was great that the 0$U couldn't run from an instate school this time. And look what happens. But the Blah would NEVER, EVER run a story with that headline.
The Blade has been sending reporters to cover BG's hockey team in a league of DII schools.
I love this!! Props to the Dayton local paper backing their HOMETOWN team and not just the biggest school in the state.
I understand the criticism of The Blade, but do you really think that if UT upset Ohio State (or anyone else for that matter) in the NCAA Tournament, that they wouldn't have a big headline for it? Maybe they wouldn't say THE University of Toledo, but I'm sure they would make a big deal about it. You might disagree, but I have to say that I was pleased with their coverage of this season's men's basketball team. I'm not arguing with the fact that the Dayton newspaper does a better job of covering their local teams. I am just saying that I think the Blade's recent coverage has been good as well.

Agree. The local paper has done a good job of UT sports coverage. The Dayton Daily News has Dayton in it's name. The Blade, formerly the Toledo Blade, dropped Toledo from it's name. I thought it was really cool that The Dayton Daily News lead with that headline. Doubt it would happen in Toledo.
A devil's advocate might remind thou... that the The Blade did insert "Go Rockets Best Ohio State" 9 x 12 blue and gold posters with the newspaper the Monday before our football game in Cleveland.
Dayton gives its coach a contract extension.
