Solid preview.
Pretty good read.

Just one thing: Calling UAB a career killer is flatly unfair. Neither Callaway nor McGee were head coach material, and Watson sucked long before he got here.

Remember, Clark is only our 4th head coach in the D1 era.
Very informative. This will be useful for checking back from week to week as the season goes on to see how the preview holds up to outcomes of games.
Excellent preview.............they were pretty much dead-on!
Most evaluations by nonresident writers are based upon national expectations of what a school can count on as support from its school's BOT (This applies to all instate FB playing schools EXCEPT UAB) and independent actions by its local administration. As we know well, UAB's situation in these is not what a national writer usually takes for granted.

As to his article, the summations for each category of the team is very good considering the influx of unknown players from JUCOs (most of whom will not be on campus until the summer) and new freshmen for this fall. This means that all expectations based upon spring practice have a suggested * on them as in "wait and see this summer". Usually, the fall depth chart is dominated by those who practiced in the spring, but this season may be an exception to the rule.

No doubt about it.........most of those JUCO's will get here this summer, and go through skeleton drills, and Woodfin's workouts. Hopefully, there won't be too steep of a learning curve for them when fall practice starts.
