This writer, Providence Crowder, does a great job expressing how it is being a black conservative. Worth the read.

"But, after I realized that I preferred a Republican and Conservative form of government, and began voting as a Republican (denouncing my allegiance to the Democratic Party, the party of the KKK, Jim Crow, and segregation), my blackness came under attack.

Instead of being considered a “sista,” many black people began believing I hated my own black skin. Instead of being down for the struggle, many black people started to think I wanted to see black people struggle. By these same people, I have been considered worse than a racist. I have been called a “sell-out” to my people, an “Uncle Tom.”

I have received all that criticism for believing this welfare state impedes economic growth and minimizes opportunity, and that it does not lift people out of poverty, but instead condemns them to it.

I have received all that hate from people who share my pigmentation, because I believe our rights come from God and not from government, and I exercise that belief with my vote. I have received all that hate because I believe that our federal, state, and local governments should be as fiscally responsible with other people’s money as they expect individuals and businesses to be with their own—and I exercise that belief with my vote. I have received all that name-calling, because I vote my values.

Nevertheless, although names hurt, they don’t define me. I am black because God said it is so, and so it is—and I love my blackness.

Yet, apparently, for some, blackness has more to do with the DNC than it does with DNA!

All this, despite overwhelming documented proof of Democratic racism, past and present, and an outright disrespect and disregard for the dignity of the black man.

So, I cannot let group think, peer pressure, persecution, or bullying inform my personal decisions and inclinations.

My blackness does not depend upon my political preferences. I am black because God said it is so, and so it is."

This is exactly why I say that racism isn't black and white anymore. It's between left and right. The left feels superior to the right and vice versa, if you're black or white and right, you're hated by the left. If you're black or white and left, you're hated by the right. Has absolutely nothing to do with color these days, even though the left claims that's all it has to do with.
Only blacks have an epithet for a black person who behaves excessively subservient to whites.
This girl has a good head on her shoulders. I like her.

That's not really true. Indians say coconut, chinese say banana, and there are many, many others.

Every group has some negative inclination about members "breaking from the herd". It doesn't always have to do with race. We're all born to certain social expectations and not meeting them or having no desire to limit yourself to them is often not met kindly and very few actually make the break.
Republicans need more and more black republicans standing up and speaking. Yes, they will all get called Uncle Toms and Oreos. But name calling is all the left really has to use against them.

Democrats have screwed blacks and other minorities over, right and left, while taking their votes for granted. If republicans can take 30% of the black vote, they will win every election. They can if blacks wake up and realize that the War on Poverty is f***ing them over instead of helping them. Blacks will, if enough black conservatives are willing to buck the name calling and personal insults. And as long as that's the best democrats have, black republicans should be able to buck it.
Malcolm X spoke out against the Democrats back in the 1960s. His words then still ring true today.

Smiling foxes (white liberals) are far more dangerous than wolves (conservatives). The liberal is more deceitful and has perfected the art of befriending the black man and posing as his friend, to use as a pawn in their political football game. At least with a wolf you know where you stand" ---- Malcolm X

If black people were to leave the Democratic party, I think we just stop voting altogether or go super obscure.

The fissure is to deep to cross over to the GOP in large numbers.

I think it is now because republicans have 1) not really gone after the black vote, 2) not successfully exposed the way the welfare system screws its supposed beneficiaries, and 3) have stood by and let democrats demonize them in minority communities.

And I call BS. Just the fact I never heard of those drives a dagger into the heart of your argument.
The quotes from Miss Crowder are thoughtful and insightful. It is sad how when a person is speaking about the content of her character and her ideas that she is instead judged by liberals and Democrats by the colour of her skin.

I think someone once mentioned something about that several years ago, if I am correct?

Could it be that you don't know an Asian or Indian person? Maybe never met one?

We need more blacks that think like white people and do want white people want. I've never questioned EagleRockCafe's blackness.
Libs are the most hateful people in America. You either follow and do as they want or you are slime that should die. This woman has more integrity than any scum sucking lib of any color.

If he's the guy who had a dream then you would be correct... King wouldn't be too happy with the way his people are turning out.

Not like all white people. Can you imagine what a black Ted Kennedy would look like? After all, I think that's the problem that has been discussed in every post prior to yours is that black democrats are doing exactly what you are proposing... thinking like white Ted Kennedy's and doing what Ted Kennedy wants them to.
