NCAA - TBD.

NIT - WMU, if they lose to UT tomorrow. I'll guess that if WMU gets the NCAA bid, NIT will take an attractive Toledo team.

CBI/CIT - Hints all over that they are filling up slots and EMU could (should) hear tomorrow.

Akron/Ohio - ???
Akron has earned a spot in at least the CIT as well as EMU
Both should have a shot at the NIT.
If WMU wins, Toledo will definitely go to the NIT as part of the regular season champion obligation. The same will be true for WMU if Toledo wins tomorrow.

neither one will get in the NIT, but hopefully the MAC will get several teams (as many as four?) in the CIT and CBI.

What if they both lose?

Akron and Ohio could be attractive to the CIT or CBI as programs which have been to the NCAAs and draw well.

that's what I'm definitely hoping!
Not many spots available in the NIT; lots of regular season champs went down in their conference tournaments.

yes, they have been getting upset in droves...

With the MAC so strong at the top it might cost us a 2nd NIT slot.
The only chance the MAC had of getting two in the NIT would have been if WMU had lost last night and Toledo tonight. UT has a good shot if they lose tonight, but there are not many slots so it is far from a sure thing. No one else has a realistic shot. Akron, EMU, UB and Ohio all might/should get C_ _ bids. One may have to buy a home game to seal the deal. If 1 seeds keep losing their conference championships in the mid and low majors, that could bump UT down which would probably bump one of the other four out.

I think I heard the EMU already is in one of the C_ _ tourneys? Anyone confirm?

EMU hasn't announced anything but the SID was dropping big hints last night after the game that a bid would be forthcoming.

His sidekick on the broadcast talked of knowing Sunday night/Monday but the SID indicated that 1/2 of the CBI or CIT bids had been issued and that Saturday we'd know more.

I assume it was because the game was very late (approaching midnight in the East) so things will get signed/sealed/delivered today.
Palm says both WMU and UT would probably slot in as a 13 seed. Lunardi has WMU as 14.

Yeah, the Big Apple Buckets NIT Bracketology projects Toledo as a 3 seed and lists OhioU and Akron as schools on the wrong side of the NIT bubble, and the Bracket Matrix NIT Bracketology projects Toledo as a 5 seed and has also dropped from two MAC schools to one, as the predicted number of at-large slots have shrunk.
What record do you have to make these tournaments such as the CBI and such, I would think like at least 2 games over .500 but what has it been in the past?
I heard Ohio got picked for the NIT over Toledo. there was some mention of preferring schools with recent bowl appearances or something.

Rimshot just kidding.

But then they looked at football head-to-head over the last couple decades and we're back in. 05-stirthepot
My predictions as of (almost) noon Selection Sunday:

1). WMU a 14 seed, because of the slew of weak NCAA teams (upsets in the lower conferences). Toledo might have been a 13 seed.

2). Toledo - NIT. The NIT should be GREAT this year. Tons of good teams. This is NOT the 'hey, we're #65' tourney of old. Lot of NIT teams could beat a lot of the NCAA tourney teams. Hope Toledo gets a shot somewhere down the line at Indiana, IL, Minn. G'Town, Maryland, Marquette, etc. - all teams who have done very well in the NCAAs. Toledo fans hope to get one of them at home, maybe 2nd round?

3). Akron and UB - CBI. CBI is a nice tourney. They could make a run here.

4). EMU (and presumably) Ohio - CIT.
Rumors are that UT has a very good chance at getting a home game on Tuesday in the NIT. Unfortunately I don't think UT would be able to host a home game in the 2nd round because the women's NCAA plays at Savage on Saturday and Monday, and the 2nd round of the NIT is Thursday-Monday,
I'd honestly rather do the CIT than the CBI (If UB has a choice). It's not as expensive to buy home games and the reseeding after each round makes for matchups I would care about more..
