Prior to this, http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/big-ten/...ights.php, fbs schedules had Rutgers at UConn in 2016, and UConn at Rutgers in 2017

UConn was dropped last month by Tennessee in a scheduled home and home.

UConn getting a taste of non-P5 medicine that it hasn't had to deal with yet, unlike the other AAC/former CUSA members.

I guess you missed the part where Rutgers was never on UCONN's fbsschedules.com schedule. That was because it was in talks and nothing was finalized. UCONN wasn't dropped because the match-up was never set. Try to know the facts before you post...
We got home and home games with UCLA and Ole Miss. Don't know what your problems are

Huh? We don't have a problem getting home and homes with P5s
We've scheduled Nebraska, Michigan, BYU, and Miami (FL). I think it's more just (un)luck of the draw.
It may not just be a G5 issue, it's a UConn issue. It's going to be hard for us but we need to get creative if people don't want to play us. It sucks but it is what it is. We might have to do more neutral site games and tie scheduling with hoops series or something, I don't know. It sure isn't looking good right now though.
I guess it's semantics then. If Rutgers decided to not schedule UConn like fbs schedules said they would, UConn still got dropped. And it's indicative of Uconn fans frustrations that their AD has NOT BEEN ABLE to schedule a P5 home and home since realignment started happening a couple of years ago. In fact, not only is UConn finding out that no Power 5 teams will give them a home and home, those that did schedule them earlier- like Tennessee- are backing out as fast as they could.

Basically it's a way to welcome UConn to the world of mid-majors, and all of the associated difficulties in getting P5 schools to play. Look for UConn to get a big body bag game against a mid to upper tier P5 school. They should get a lot of money because they can try to throw in their men's and women's bb teams as extra leverage/extra $'s.

UCF is definitely struggling to get high quality opponents right now, especially at home. We have BYU coming to Orlando this year, and that's it from a Home perspective (we do have PSU in Ireland and Mizzou on the road).

2015 - Travel to USCe next season (return game for the 2013 game)
2016 - Travel to Michigan (no return game, one-and-done)
2017 - Travel to Texas (2nd return game of the 2-for-1 with UT opening up BHNS in 2007)

Nothing else officially on the books though.

It isn't our fault your AD isn't good at scheduling P5 teams

And Tennessee, Missouri and Kansas. Just got done with Duke.

Sounds like a UConn Atheletic Department issue... they've burned bridges and crossed people - The other AAC schools seem to still be scheduling P5 opponents, so not sure its a Go5 thing.

What team are you a fan of? I've never seen you post anything but UConn-centric negative posts laced with exageration.

Let me make sure I understand your point. Because Tennessee postponed the series for the oppurtunity to play in the middle of a racetrack, and Rutgers is signed a series with Washington UConn is in trouble adjusting to life as a midmajor?

Got it.
The real issue is that no team in the Northeast wants to play us and Connecticut does not provide a recruiting advantage for teams to play. We have still been able to bring NC St, UNC, UVA, Baylor, ISU, Vandy, Michigan, Maryland, and others in the past.

There has been a small hiccup right now in scheduling partly due to the changing conference situations around the country and partly due to what I spoke of in the first two lines.

EDIT: Like the troll, I also forgot UConn signed a home and home with Illinois just a few weeks ago..
I think the Florida schools because of location SHOULD be able to avoid a big freezeout. Plus, FSU so far hasn't been shy (political reasons) about playing USF?

But so far Boston College, Syracuse, and now Rutgers have all said they won't play UConn. The northeast has fewer P5 schools, so UConn has been frozen out.

ECU (maybe cost/geography/politics) has also been doing ok in scheduling.

But UConn, wow. They can't get a Power 5 school to schedule them. Going several years without getting a P5 school scheduled must be driving their fans crazy. It is an unfamilar feeling for them and they are lashing out with all kinds of conspiracyntheories, etc.

Such a big UCONN troll...how many threads is this now...?

What are you talking about?

Michigan is not at home* and home and Nebraska is a decade down the line.

*The agreement was home and home for basketball but the Wolverines will not be coming to Cincinnati for football.

BYU is a good opportunity for G5 schools because the Cougars are having a hard time filling their schedule as an independent. I know they play several AAC schools in the next couple of years.

Cincinnati resides in fertile recruiting grounds as well so I think that is an advantage for us over a school like UConn in terms of scheduling. It will be interesting to see if these teams fulfill the contracts in the next few years and to see how well the new AD does in getting quality teams to come here.

UCLA pushed out our series until 2019 or 2020 to play Texas A&M instead; we signed with Washington to replace UCLA on the schedule.

The UConn series hasn't been finalized yet.

Cost/politics? No, its because we sell out a 50k seat stadium. You're a conspiracy theorist.
