Didn't see a thread or post about this, and I've been waiting, so congrats Chad:

They sure are dragging out the POY award...
Are you talking about the Chad Frazier Award?

Unfortunately, I think Jones from MTSU is going to get it. Hope I'm wrong.
POY normally doesn't go to a team that is 7-9 in the conference.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but more than likely it won't.
Not sure if chad deserves it, honestly. I think first team and newcomer are appropriate, but POY may be pushing it.

He turned the ball over way too much, shooting percentage wasn't great, and he missed a lot of FTs. If he can improve those things, he should be a shoe in next year.
Agree with the Answer.
Without Chad, we lose at Tulsa, Charlotte, and Rice. I'd say that's pretty deserving of a POY nod.

Also, based on his points contribution, he didn't lose any games for us in conference.
And we get slaughtered by New Mexico, don't beat Nebraska, and lose to UNC. He was very valuable to our team. That being said, he doesn't deserve conference player of the year in my opinion.
Best news of all is that he should be back next year. Add him with CJ and Brown who comes with experience and that's a nice start in terms of leadership. Wouldn't mind at all getting at least one more good JUCO if there are any available, particularly at the PG spot.
Player of the year should be Jones at MT or Watson at uSM
As to whether Chad wins POY or not, I don't think he does. The last player I remember winning who didn't fit the "best player on the best team" mold-and I may be off on this-was Morris Almond from Rice. And he was a dominant, prolific scorer that year. But I will say that I think it would have to go one of the five players on the first team all conference team, and since there were four teams tied for first and three different players from three of those teams were on the first team, none of whom were particularly dominant, I think Chad has a better shot to win than we may think.

But my prediction is Shawn Jones.

Someone at Central Florida won when they werent the best team. Almond absolutely deserved it that year. The guy at UCF just had gaudy numbers.

Jermaine Taylor. Apparently there's a wikipedia page for the C-USA men's basketball player of the year: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conference_...f_the_Year
Chad was incredibly valuable to our team, no doubt about it. He should get consideration for the award, but I'm not sure he deserves it. As many good games as he had, he had several abysmal games that probably hurt the team.

I really hope he isn't our "point guard" next year. He would be so good off the ball and only spending small spurts at PG. he missed a ton of freethrows, as well.

I'm a nitpicky person by nature, but I'm glad chad is on our team. He should be proud of his accomplishments in year one.

Here's to an even better year two!
