Wow, the 5th seed is the worst possible draw Memphis could imagine. To make it to Saturday (Championship Game), we would have to beat the 2 teams that swept us in conference play. I think we have the talent to win the tourney, but will we have the heart, preparation, in game coaching and execution to do so?
It's a tough road. But to be the Champions, you have to earn it. Regardless of seed, win them all!! Go Tigers!
They're all gonna be tough from here on out. Might was well start now.
This conference tourney, will be waaayy tougher than any string of opponents we may face in the ncaa's.

That's a great point. Winning this tournament probably has about the same degree-of-difficulty as an Elite 8 run, or possibly even a F4 run.

I was about to say the same thing. If we win these 3 straight, then I'll be looking for the Elite 8.

Correct. Beating #21, #12 and #5 on consecutive days would be a run of historical proportions for us. At least you get a day off between games in the NCAA tourney.
I much prefer this to winning the CUSA Championship game by 30 and not being at all prepared for the NCAAs.

Definitely.
The last time we had 3 consecutive games this difficult was Michigan St., Texas, and UCLA.

Here's to a similar outcome.
I still think we win all three. We almost had Cin. figured out up there, but c'mon we weren't gonna win in their place on Senior Night. We were one defensive rebound away from beating Conn on their floor too. Plus I'm in the "It's hard to beat the same team three times" camp and say we will play UL for the AAC title Saturday.
UCONN will be the toughest game including UL.

I for one wont miss a 10:30am tip off on Saturday.

I for one wont miss a 10:30am tip off on Saturday.

On ESPN8 or Comcast Southeast Regional or PBS or whatever the hell we were broadcast on.

The Championship game was always broadcast on CBS, which was good, but way too early. The semis were always broadcast on CBSSN.

Cheer up. I'm sure that even if the Tigers do win the tourney you'll still find some creative way to disparage coach Pastner.

I think its the best seed. We're at home ... time to beat UConn and Cincy for revenge ... and Louisville for fun. Should run off the lame azzzz. posters who only come here to put down the HC.

We actually just finished a 3 game set with...

Louisville
Cincy
SMU

Went 2-1

*face palm*

Dang, yeah you're right lol. I guess I was just thinking tournament games, and I keep forgetting just how darn good SMU is this season. If we make it to the Finals then I sure as heck can't remember the last time we played 6 consecutive back to back games this tough.
Beating a top 25 team 3 times in one season is really really tough. That is why I am more worried about a possible match up against Louisville than I am UCON or Cincy. I am looking forward to the NCAA tournament I doubt we play anyone in the first round that has the guard play we have. That first win will be a big confidence booster!
Beating a top 25 team is tough period- regardless of prior games- although a good team that has lost twice you would think would have an emotional edge..

That is why it is difficult. Difficult for Memphis opponents too.
I don't know if the facts bear it out but to me the Tigers play better when playing more often. They have won a lot of Saturday games after losing on Thursday. I seems it doesn't take much to put rust on the Tigers. Shooting especially. GOOOO----------TIGERS!!!!
