I'm not defending it, far from it - but the girl who threw the punch was the first one to hit the floor. She moves in toward the key, takes a bump, goes down, and I hear a pretty good thump as she hits the floor. The girl who put her down then gets tangled up with and takes down the second girl to hit the floor.
When she heads back downcourt, the first girl she put on the floor sucker punches her, hard, and leaves her on the floor sobbing.
I dunno, "playground justice" gone too far? There was certainly bad intent, and there's no doubt it was deliberate.

Umm, there girl who threw the punch hit the floor bc she ran into a bigger girl and then flopped. Maybe it was a foul, maybe it wasn't. But no way it deserved getting punched in the face. If you want to carry out playground justice, go play on a playground, not a professional league

Unless there are mitigating circumstances -- and there certainly aren't any in that video -- the animal who threw the punch should be convicted of felony assault and get some prison time.

Player got owned on one end & flopped trying to get a foul & didn't like it when she didn't get one so returned the favor in a different fashion on the other but having said that there may have been more issues going on previous to this play that we don't know about. It could've been a very chippy game beforehand between bitter rivals etc. Not what I'd call good sportsmanship in any case
