Is anyone watching the second round game of Hofstra vs. Delaware? Looks like the CAA could have saved money and rented a Baltimore Middle School Gym.
Yeah I thought it was funny that a sideline reporter was talking about how Delaware was going to be bringing a ton of fans while they show about 22 people in attendance.
I was afraid of that. People always ragged on having it at Richmond, but at least the people supported it. You would think that with Towson and Delaware being the two favored teams that it would be a big draw, and perhaps it might be for the finals, but they don't even draw well for their home games.
we said that with vcu odu and gmu all leaving, attendance even in richmond would be abysmal. jmu, and w&m to a lesser extent, were their only remaining programs that had any semblance of a fan base for basketball.
northern school's fans claimed they'd show up in better numbers if it wasn't so far for them. well, baltimore is about as 50/50 as you can get from boston to charleston.
There you go. 22 delaware fans showed up to something that is a whopping 45 minutes away from them and you're the top team in the conference.
is caa tv a viewing option?

If Madison leaves the caa they will have to rent a high school gym the dukes can win this tournament. Go dukes.

Why don't these schools support these teams? Nothing is more sad than watching a winning team get absoltuely no fan support.
I mean, I get that Hofstra fans wouldn't want to come, but c'mon Delaware...this is pathetic.

It is understandable that Delaware fans are not in Baltimore. Their track and field team is competing in the ECAC Indoor Championships!
Jmu outdrew Towson this year in home attendance. What does that tell you about their fan support. Baltimore would be a great location if all the programs had strong fan support but they don't. Richmond would have drawn far better this year.

Northeastern has less than they did at last years final game which was not many. Hope the purple comes out at 6
Is Woody Harrelson calling the Drexel/NE game?

Not sure where to discuss the tournament, so I'll just post this here.

Looks like Northeastern is going to beat Drexel. Drexel has had some high expectations the last few seasons and they never live up to them. I know a lot of Drexel fans are not high on Bruiser Flint. I have to wonder how long it will take until the administration decides to look for a new coach.
Dozens of people there!

There was clearly going to be a sizable drop off with the 3 schools that left, but this about as little league as it can get. Been listening to incessant whining of the north schools for YEARS about having to travel to Richmond every year, especially those Drexel nerds, and about how great they would all rep if the toureny were moved.

Well, guess what? Perfect weather, short trip for the North school other than NU and there's no one there.

How pathetic.
How big is the bmore arena? Since the CAA is a low major at this point we would be better off having the 1 seed host the whole tourney. It would mix it up most years.
Pretty much, JMU is the CAA when it comes to fan support. If the tournament had stayed in Richmond the attendance would have wound up being double what it is going to be in Balimur. Unless, Yeager is paying a whole lot less to use the B'more Arena, they are going to lose a lot of money.

I like that or make the previous year's winner the host.
