So, during a timeout at the WMU game, a group of unidentified former basketball players were briefly paraded onto the floor as the announcer said they had played in an alumni basketball game earlier in the day.

My question is, what is up with this? In the past, either the game wasn't announced beforehand or it was about two hours before the varsity game when nobody was in the arena. Is there some purpose behind this scheduling?
And they didn't even announce who the players were. They should have had them play last week between the M & W double header since there was 2 hours between the games.

I made the comment that they weren't introduced at the time. Then a wasted time promotion was done as the alums were escorted off the court.

Was wondering the same thing...

I agree.

I was disappointed that they did not introduce them individually as they should have, because I would have liked to know who exactly who each of them were. It was poorly handled IMO and I wouldn't blame those players if they felt a bit slighted, offended or insulted and certainly under appreciated by their 10-15 second group presentation. As much mindless crap as they have to fill in time-outs, surely they could have found a little more time to show these guys a bit more respect (of course most of the mindless crap has commercial sponsors which I am sure takes precedence).

The Women had Alumni Day the week before, they weren't even paraded out on the court during a time out???01-lauramac2
Alumni game is a little awkward. I think the fact that it is handled by the staff in the middle of the season it might not get the pub it deserves. The player turnout was a little lite...only a small group of ex players came out with the rest of the team being made up of hoops staff. Fun game non the less. Attendees were Nick Moore, Jeff Seemann, Rorey ?, JB Hood, cant identify the couple of others who dressed. Not sure how to get more involvement but I think it has potential to be a little more than it is. Coach K is committed to the event and supplies a very nice meal for the alumni and their families.
