How big would it be if they hired Pearl?
Lowest budget in DI. They just hired a new AD from UNLV. It'll be interesting to see who he brings in.
If Cuonzo Martin had gotten UTK to the tournament, it could have been him.
Pearl would stay at ESPN before he'd even pick up a phone from a Martin area code...
We aren't in danger of losing any assistants. Memphis pays assistants more than Martin can pay a head coach.
ah, UT martin. Quite the little town... Is Dots still open? Do they still have the head shop that sells records out of the front and whip-its (sp?) out the back right next to campus?

Dots is gone. Caddys is still open as is The Next Door (head shop). The majority of business has moved to the north end of town (by campus) so the old main street has converted to upscale bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. It's actually pretty cool. There's an old K&N Drive In from the 50s that still does frosted mug root beer and brings the tray out to your car window.

If McFerrin doesn't work out I'd go for their women's coach. They just won their forth straight OVC title.

Next door - that was it. Shame about dots. That was a beautiful hell hole of a bar. Saw several fights in there. That may be the first bar I actually had a beer in.

Think Dot finally ended up at that big tavern in the sky. Caddy's is still popular as is a new bar called "The Stables" as well as an El Porton (slightly nicer actually) type place called La Cabana. Martin isn't a bad place these days. I just miss Memphis.
