5 in the Top 20 for the AAC. Very impressive.
5 in the Top 20 for the American. No other conference has more than 4 in the Top 25. # 15 sounds about right for the Bearcats!
Ha! What in the world does UK have to do to drop out of rankings?
What's it take for Team A to drop all the way from pre-season #4 to out of the AP altogether?? Loss at home to MSU? One would hope so
How in the eff is Kentucky still ranked??? Their league is absolute garbage and Two HORRIBLE losses this week and they are still ranked. Unreal.

Change their name from "The University of Kentucky." Seriously, that "Kentucky" label is good for a top-25 ranking all on it's own...

I certainly don't want to be matched up with them come tourney time. Teams that were preseason ranked high and are as loaded with raw talent as UK and then drop to a low seed in the tourney because youth and/or undisciplined play cost them many lossess are a nightmare matchup. Just ask the 2002 UC team about this.
lol uk
Depends. I would not UK to be the team UC draws as a high seed in the first round or second round, but it would be a team I'd love to see further along.

If UC gets a 4 or 5 seed I dont see that happening. I cant see them getting anywhere near a 4 or 5 seed at this point. I have a hard time seeing UK getting anything better than a 7 seed right now.
Right now in the " Bracket Matrix " UC is the number two 4 seed, which would put us with the number three one seed, who is Wichita State. Would you mind this one.

I dont want to take anything away from the Shockers but they do play a fairly soft schedule.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority, but I don't want to see Wichita St in our half of the bracket. This isn't an overrated Gonzaga type team with little to no tournament success. These guys were on their way to the championship game last year until Tim Henderson hit back-to-back 3's to cut a 12 point lead in half. They know how to win, they are very balanced, and they are extremely well-coached. I'd rather play them than say Florida, but that might be about it.

Just have to wonder if they have seen a defense like UC's or if they could solve it in time to beat UC. Of coarse, we might have to score more than 45.

I'd love to get Wichita State as the 1 if UC is a 4 seed. I'd say Wichita is probably closer to the 10-15th best team in the Country than a top 4 team. Of course that means they are every bit as good as UC and capable of making it back to the final four, but as a 4 seed it'd be a good draw. They also don't scare me from a matchup perspective as much as some other team. It's all relative, but in the sweet 16 when you are going to be playing really good teams, give me the team we match up best with talent wise.

BTW Wichita State has certainly earned a 1 seed at this point. Even the best teams would have been expected to have a few losses against their schedule. I just think talent wise, it would be a favorable draw, even though we'd still be an underdog.
At this point I just want to make it through the first weekend. I've seen way too many UC teams fail to make it out of the first weekend.
There are two types of teams I don't want UC to play in the tournament:
1. Teams that really pressure the ball before you get into your offense (VCU, OSU and Florida come to mind) and
2. Teams with a gifted scoring big (or worse multiple scoring bigs) (Kansas, Michigan State and New Mexico and Kentucky come to mind)

That's completely reasonable. That's why I figured I'd be in the minority on this one. I just think they have some of that Butler magic, where this group just expects to win tournament games because they have done it before. I guess you could argue that it'll be different this time as the hunted.

I think you are selling them short putting them in the 10-15 range though. The Massey composite ranking averages nearly 40 different rating/ranking systems and Wichita St comes in 5th overall.

I do think Wichita State is a very good team and worthy of their ranking. Though I'd probably rather see them as the No. 1 seed in the Cats bracket. Every game there is a little more pressure on that undefeated season and a better chance for a team to struggle or get over-confident. It would be a tough matchup, but one that Cats would be prepared for since they have faced a lot more tougher opponents.

I'd actually be more leery of Wichita State if they get knocked out of their conference tourney since their heads may deflate some and they may refocus more (Not that focus has been a problem with them this season).
