Quote:It is widely expected that Dingell's wife, Democratic National Committee member and former General Motors executive Debbie Dingell, will run for his seat. Debbie Dingell mulled a run for Michigan's open Senate seat earlier this year before deciding not to run. Dingell's congressional seat is safely Democratic.

debbie dingell is going to run for her husband, john's, former seat. John won a special election in 1955 to replace his father, who died in office.
I hope for the sake of Michiganders that the dingells have little dingells to represent them safely into the future.
Never seen a better case for term limits since FDR.
Debbie Dingell is the overwhelming favorite to win the seat in November. She is 59 years old, and -- simply based on age -- she might plausibly hold the seat for at least 18 years.
If that actually happens, then the Dingell family will have held a Michigan congressional seat for 100 consecutive years.
