Since every thread has at lest person saying no we lost because of turnovers I wante this in place.
A lot of the turnovers were caused by fouls that went uncalled. Why is that so hard to understand? We played 5 vs 8 bottom line.

Its actually a very good point. Most of our post turnovers were the result of what should have been foul calls had the officials been consistent. In a couple of instances UConn jumped the gap to our high post and stole the ball cleanly. A couple of other times Shaq brought the ball down low when he shouldn't have. In the first half, when our guards picked up all the cheap quick early fouls we became a bit discombobulated and turned the ball over on a few consecutive possessions as we were searching for a rhythm with fresh players in against UConns team with only 1 foul. Several times UConn went right through us or over our back and there was no call. Johnson was hammered going to the basket once...no call, turnover..Shaq shoved out of bounds no call turnover. I could go on but we probably had about 10-12 legitimate turnovers. The one that went off Joes foot he had possession, was screaming for a time out and they wouldn't give it to him. UConn player falls to the floor with the ball, no travel call. I could go on, but it doesn't matter. Everything went UConns way. Guess Vegas is happy. What matters is our kids played their hearts out.

But you had others like the UConn player standing out of bounds with ball and passing it down court for a 3. Enough of our turnover were created by fouls that woudl have had us up double digits if they were called.

Yep! No one said that all of the turnovers were from missed fouls by the refs but there were enough non calls that made a difference
There was about a 10 minute period late in the first half where it seemed they were going to let both teams just "play". I thought it was pretty evenly called then. The refs reverted to form for the entire 2nd half.
Meh.
We were screwed.
No one claiming a conspiracy or anything like that- but in THIS game- the calls royally screwed our kids.
Far too many phantom fouls putting Napier at the line- far too few fouls when our kids got hit inside. 16 trips to the line with to 3 total trips to the line for 28 free throws- them making 21 (before intentional fouls started), against 3 trips to the lone for a total of 6 attempts. When Memphis was driving all game.
Refs do not conspire- but they get caught up. And they got caught up. 11-0 Memphis run in the first half- ends with Boatright at the line. 6-0 Memphis half time run- ends with Napier at the line. 8-0 run at the end of the game- ends with a Napier basket with- of course- an and one free throw.
While there were other plays Memphis could have made- they made more than enough plays that absent this odd whistling on Memphis for reaching while UConn reaches were turnovers- made this one nearly impossible.
And yes- even with all the screwing- securing that one more late rebound likely wins the game- a game that was a three point lead but should have been more like 13.

Sure, there were some bad calls, the one you reference probably the worst. I'm thrilled that our guys had so much poise in the face of these calls to almost win the game.
Maybe we can send a tape in and get an apology...

Well to be fair, the calls weren't all against Memphis. The refs did make a call against UConn to stop a Tiger fast break and sure bucket.
