I was checking the remaining schedules for the top 5 teams. Interesting possibilities.

IF the top 5 teams hold home court against each other for the remaining conference schedule, and don't lose to a bottom 5 AAC team, then the final standings would be:

Cincinnati 16-2
Louisville 13-5
SMU 13-5
Memphis 13-5
UConn 13-5

Obviously, that is highly unlikely, but it shows that the teams that wind up with the 2 and 3 seeds will be the ones who can steal a road win or two, and not lose any WTF games.
Something to remember for this year's conf tourn, Seeds 1 -6 all get a first round bye...so odds are, those top teams will be well rested for round 2, making it pretty hard for any low seeds to upset them on Day 2 of the tourn.
Get your point on well rested, but ask UCONN how they won in NYC without the double bye and then won the NCAA tourney!

Yup! Kemba was unreal that tournament run 04-cheers
Nice to see him doing well in Charlotte - he was a special player. Carried UConn all the way.

Anybody know the Bball tiebreakers for seeding?
There is serious incentive to avoid the 4/5 game. Even though technically they'd have a bye, nobody wants to finish lower than 3rd because it means a very tough game the first time out. The conference would hate to see Memphis go down to say, UConn on Thursday. That would be very bad.

Because the tourney is in Memphis, and it would hurt attendance for them to lose their first game? Has nothing to do with UConn winning.

With Us, Cincy & Uconn. I doubt NEEDING memphis to buy the tickets is a big deal. We will GLADLY snatch up any remaining tickets and STUFF the Fedex forum if you are not there....03-yawn

This isn't CUSA anymore.

Oh yeah, they're gonna pour down from Storrs overnight to make up for all the Memphis fans who might bail if we lose the first game. Unless you're thinking it's a sellout and thousands of extra fans will be standing around Thursday night trying to buy tickets. This ain't the old Big East in MSG with 16 teams and half of them within a few hours drive, either.

As for rest, using the old Big East as a metrics, I don't think it will be a big deal for the 2nd games. Where it starts to kick in is the third game. But it will really get you in the championship game, as Syracuse found out. I point this out because if you are playing to win (i.e. as opposed to seeing how far you can get), if you are a five seed you are better off facing the one seed (presumably the best team) after only one game back to back, then as say a 6 seed and having to face them in the title game when fatigue has gotten to you
