-Slaton looks scary good
he just scored again he has 140 yards rushing

WVU up 28-7
Slaton looked good, but WVU made too many mental mistakes. Typical of a first game of the season. Next week's tune-up will help them iron out the wrinkles before they play Mississippi State. The MSU defense looked very good the other day, but they didn't have any offense.
Congrats on the win; you did what you had to do! 04-rock
Nice, convincing win, Eers. I thought it might be closer. A blow out was good to see though.

Bitcruncher man you expect perfection on the first game against a rival? These guys have been waiting all summer and you know there will be mistakes and rust. Especially when you have some new starters. Plus you guys were playing Marshall, so I think that was a big win for you guys. The mountaineers could have easily looked past marshal, but they stayed focused and beat the hell out of them.
I was pretty impressed.. Slaton was just amazing all day, even though I kept waiting for him to break out a big one. Marshall's QB impressed me w/ his arm strength, he could be good given some time. I thought Pat While and the entire offense looked extremely composed all game - it did not seem like the first game of the season. They were crisp and efficient all day.

Defensively, Marshall was able to move the ball at times, but not consistently. Still, I think our defense is going to be a problem against teams that can score, like Maryland and certainly Louisville and Pitt.

Overall they came out and looked better than I expected.. I thought this game would be much closer, but I was wrong. The poise of the team really impressed me today - they just seemed ready.

Like I said, I hope the cardinals don't look past UK. Granted Uk and Marshall aren't the best team's in the world, but if WVU didn't come out ready then Marshall could have easily bit them. I hope UofL comes out with a mission, plus I hate UK so we need to give them a good ass whooping today.

I don't expect perfection, but I do hate to see stupid penalties. The missed assignments and such are going to happen the first week or two, but by the time they play MSU the Mountaineers should be in mid season form. I merely pointed out the obvious.

I agree, but you usually get more penalties against rivals with all the trash talk on the field. Still very impressive win by the mountaineers. All that matters is you guys are 1-0
