Why would UT want to do this?
I wonder how ticket allotment will be split up

Why would UT want to do this?

Apparently for recruitment, fans, etc. according to the Tennessee website

Playing on a neutral field isn't something I'd want to do against a (hopefully) re-surging program.

Which one of us is the resurging team in your scenario?
Butch Jones has been real big on building a fence around Tennessee. I look at this as their way of poking Vanderbilt while being able to tell recruits, "Hey, we play and sell out NFL stadiums and even NASCAR venues." It's also a slightly closer drive so I'm not going to complain.

And you actually get an entire seat to yourself instead of splitting one with 1.5 other people

And UAB has a year to decide the answer.
