It was a good interview.
as usual, gay barker couldn't wait to chime in and ask about "What did you mean about UAB owning the state of Alabama in recruiting?"

i thought the coach handled it pretty well. He kinda laughed and explained what he meant as well as why he wants UAB to be able to keep guys from leaving the state.
Is there a lot of recruiting going on in barber shops?
I just listened to it. It was a very good interview. Coach Clark is going to work well with the media.
Yeah, he's media savvy... and you can understand what he says. I'm also not hearing about changing a culture of losing. I suspect he intends to do that by winning games, not by talking about it.

Yep. I've also heard him say multiple times that he intends to compete from the get-go. Big difference between saying that and saying I expect to win from day 1 give me some grass and I can make it work.

I also can't wait to see his contract, because I feel like there should be a lot of good news in that.
The Board of Trustees are meeting at UAB this week (today and tomorrow, actually). Someone should be able to get a hold of the contract soon.

Thanks. I knew that was coming up soon, but wasn't sure of the exact dates.
If numbers are actually looked at, the D1 programs in Alabama are actually minority shareholders in the state's public high schools as a whole. AU & UA had 6 each, UAB, Troy and USA signed 4 each while JAX State and Miles College signed 37 together (20+17). The D1 schools "cherry pick" from the increasingly few nationally ranked public high school programs leaving the rest to others.

We get it. You can stop derailing every thread with your own agenda.

What is going on Saturday? They normally only meet two days. First day is committee meetings and second day full board meeting.

The official notice and agenda on their website only says today and tomorrow. I don't think they can legally meet on Saturday unless it's an emergency.

I'm not entirely sure. I just know that I'm working the door for the event. There is also a Dental school thing which might have something to do with it. Our dental school apparently has literally millions in funding from the NIH and they are having some sort of alumni event.

Or who knows? Maybe the booked the venue just in case.

Yes, UAB has hundreds of millions of dollars of research funding, a great deal of it from the NIH.

It's possible they scheduled it "just in case" but there is no meeting scheduled so unless they get snowed out tomorrow, I doubt they will meet Saturday.
