"UAB was a member of the East Division this year, but appears likely to move to the West. Anderson said no decision on UAB has been announced, but I’m hearing from other officials that it’s all but final."
That sucks. That means no regular series with MTSU or Charlotte.
It also means that we need to continue to leverage up on what seems to be our scheduling philosophy out of conference: scheduling teams in close proximity, like Troy, South Alabama and Georgia State. Only two of our new divisional rivals (USM/LT) will be within reasonable driving distance, so most conference home games won't have many traveling fans.
Looks like today may be the day

UAB's football schedule, like the rest of CUSA, will be released early this afternoon
Any idea on what that may be?

Certainly it seems more than just a football schedule announcement.
Nope. Just the schedules.
Then they should leave out the BIG part.
How do you guys feel about home games on Thursday or Friday nights? Will that get more fans?
I HATE Friday night games. Interferes with high school football.

I hate them and they hurt attendance
Friday nights would interfere with my high school football activities.
I'll be there any other day or time.
Thursday nights have been some of our better attended games.
I recall a decently attended Friday game or two as well.
The infamous Darrell Hackney "stiff-arm of justice" vs TCU was on a Friday night.

Attendance: 33,280 (3rd all-time)
(WIN)

And, recently, some of the worst attended...
Recently, all of our home games are among the worst attended.

Zing!
Don't be surprised if the Nov 8th game gets moved to Friday Nov 14th. Currently no conference game on Nov 14th and both schools have an open date of Nov 15th.. LA Tech would have to approve since that would give them two away conference games in a row. But since that would give them 8 days before their Nov 22nd game, they may go for it.
