And just yesterday they were claiming race baiting “isn’t who we are.”

ALEX WAGNER: As John Stanton reports according to one southern Republican lawmaker, the reason the party has had such a hard time doing anything on immigration reform is because “it’s racial. if you go to town halls, people say things like ‘these people have a different culture than we do’, and that’s code for race.” …

Sam Stein, one would hope we have moved past the question of alligator-filled moats but it is a fair point that John Stanton brought up that what’s driving division over immigration reform is the base itself, which makes tackling it that much harder. John Boehner came out and excoriated outside groups over the last spending bill in the fall…and seemed to maybe be putting those demons in a box. But this is very much the heart and soul of the Republican party, this argument.
they just keep digging themselves in deeper and deeper don't they?

It's almost like they can't help themselves.
"and that's code for race"

She just appointed herself lead researcher and political science expert. Why even have the interview.

These clowns on MSNBC just need to all go. Pull the plug on this total disaster. Their ratings aren't improving and they are barely hanging on. Her show is just one of many that are nothing but racism all day, all night. In other words, she is the next racist on that channel looking for the spotlight.
But remember, they don't have a particular ideology. They are just objective angels.

Even they can't believe that one anymore.
I think @MSNBCapology should apologize now for thinking they what a heart (or a soul) is

It's funny, because if you actually knew anything about political science, you'd know that there are Republican strategists themselves stating that they knowingly used words like this, or other more libertarian leaning issues in order to drum up support from racists.

That's not to say that every republican is racist, or that libertarians who don't like federal legislation like the civil rights act are inherently racist, but when a lead republican strategist for Reagan and H.W. says this -

Quote:You start in 1954 by saying ‘N*gger, n*gger, n*gger.’ By 1968 you can’t say ‘N*gger.’ That hurts you. It backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states rights and all that stuff and you get so abstract. Now you talk about cutting taxes and these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that’s part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract and that coded, we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. Obviously sitting around saying we want to cut taxes and we want this, is a lot more abstract than even the busing thing and a hell of a lot more abstract than n*gger n*gger. So anyway you look at it, race is coming on the back burner.

your feigned outrage is downright laughable.

So now the truth is race baiting? 01-wingedeagle

Hey look! fo8 is now a political science expert too! just look at what he's found for yet another post, in another thread! The exact same quote he's used before from the same deceased guy from 30 or so years ago.

And this, of course, "if you knew anything about political science", represents "Republican Strategists", as in plural. Yet this is apparently the only quote (ambivalent and innocuous as it is) that is worthy of being saved to his hard drive.

You and Bashir need to get a room. Joke.

If they mean the "solid south" then I agree with them.
You really don't know who Lee Atwater was if you don't find that interview telling.
Did anyone catch the host saying that we're in an age of historic deportations? Republicans want to keep illegals out and they're racists. Obama deports historic numbers and he not. Liberals just don't have a clue any more.

Most right minded people want to keep undocumented immigrants out of the country.

The difference is that one party wants to reform the system to allow more of them to enter the country legally and the other party doesn't.
Not the GOP, the Tea party.

But that is the elephant in the room. The Tea Party is part of the Republican Party and the Republican Party isn't man enough to kick them out. As long as the Republican Party is too scared to shun the Tea Party, they will continue to lose elections.

First firm calls the Tea Party racist.. and he is so full of it. Not ONE person has ever proven that claim.. .Oh wait, that's right... we're accusing the Tea Party, we don't have to prove it, you make those of us who believe in the policy of the TEA party to disprove it.

Only on the left is it "Guilty until proven innocent"

Name ONE supported "platform plank" of the Tea Party organization that is racist.

As for "Kicking the TEA party" out.. AGain, WHO are you going to kick out? Come on.. name one "Tea Party" cnadidate that has done something worthy of being "thrown out" of the Republican party.

Oh, i forgot, this is the Democrat supporters who attack ANYONE who isn't of the "Hivemind" of the Democratic platform. Go back and ask yourself how "well" the "Blue Dog Democrats" were defended after they didn't defend Obamacare. Oh wait, they threw them out as soon as they could (even the ones who voted for it, but pointed out that things needed to be fixed in it ASAP).

Of course. It is racist to expect people to follow immigration laws.

Everybody knows that the Tea Party is racist, don't need to prove that. 05-stirthepot

The tea party isn't even the tea party anymore. the political movement formerly known as the tea party has been taken over by purist thugs that are currently as concerned (or more so) by destroying the Republican Party than they are in defeating the extremist agenda of the liberals.
