What's with the Iron City stuff?

They must be a big sponsor now. Everybody I've talked to says that place is great, so I'm hoping to get over there soon.
Have we had soccer signing socials in the past?

It's a cool place, but the restaurant part is open to the public. So if that's where it is... Meh.

And having the general public stumble on to our signing day social is a bad thing?

Iron City itself has become a big sponsor of UAB athletics and the owner is personally a big donor as well.

its going to be in the concert venue area with a movie quality screen to show the video of the recruits.

In that case, it's awesome. Sweet bar in the concert venue as well.

the owner is a huge UAB fan and we should support those who support UAB.

If it means not having room for actual Blazer fans? Yes, yes it is.

But that isn't the case, since it is at the concert venue, not the restaurant side.

if we have over 1300 people show up it would be an issue.

the video setup in the restaurant side has been improved and its now a great place to watch sports. unfortunately most UAB games seem to be Comcast which is not available in Birmingham. they would be more than happy to show any UAB game they are able to on the restaurant side if we are willing to show up and watch. when the time comes that UAB has a fan base willing to put 400+ in the main room they would show games on the movie screen.

I was saying that if they did the social in the relatively small public restaurant part, there wouldn't be much room for Blazer fans.

They are doing it in the venue side, so that won't be a problem.

We'll be happy to!
A huge plus for the football program. Iron City's been the talk of the town, recently BB King has performed in concert there, every time I've driven by there at night, the place appeared to be packed, if they're pro-UAB, this is a great thing. I'm gonna try and make this one.
Iron City is pretty sweet, been to a number of events there. I have been meaning to get down to a Basketball radio show, but so far I have had conflicts.
I'll only need 2 Hors please.
