I think...

We were all watching local TV stationed out at the airport waiting for a basketball coach to return from Las Vegas, where they were going to bombard him with questions about being the Cincinnati basketball coach no longer.

Everyone seems to have landed on their feet, and certain fans in Kansas are more excited than they have been in decades. Mick Cronin has also energized the local fan base and should continue that trend as the season nears closer.

Hopefully the wounds have healed for most, and we have been able to move on.
I can't believe it's been a year. I was so irate i think it ruined two days of work. I was online at work on here a lot for about 2 or 3 days...

My threats to retailate against Zimpher weren't realized... yet...

Still hate her guts...

So is everyone over it and ready to move?

I sorta want to but isn't that what nancy banked on? that we would all just move on and eventuall accept whomever was hired?

Is it immature not to?

I don't know if immature is the right word. Not sure how to describe it but hanging on doesn't accomplish much of anything. Definitely at this point in time. I guess if it makes someone feel like they get sometihing out of hangin on, so be it and more power to them. I never saw any benefit so I put it way in the rear view mirror by last December.

By the time Mick became the new head coach.......I was so tired of all the bad decisions that I was just thankful they finally made a good decision. I also felt that Nancy took so much heat from the fans publicly that maybe she'd learned her lesson and will stay out of athletic decisions from now on.

Yes, I'm ready to move on. I appreciated what Huggs did putting UC back on the map, but I was also getting tired him and the black eye on the school. Also after listening to Andy Kennedy's upbeat and colorful relationship with the media and fans, I grew fond of him and liked his personality far better than Huggs. And I feel the same way about Cronin.

I just think it was time for a new face for the UC basketball program.

It has all worked out in the end.
I'm happy that Mick got the job, all the talk about Louis Orr was starting to scare the $hit out of me. I will support Mick and everything he does, but I'll never forget the damage Nancy has done this program, that witch needs to go. Her actions have put this program at least 2 years behind, could be more like 4 or 5, at the worst possible time as we moved into a power conference. She's caused more embarassment and harm to UC than anyone I can remember.

She was worried about our image before? Now we are known as the school with the b!tch president who fired a hall of fame coach. Go us, go biology department!

It doesn't really seem like it's a been a year, with everything that has happened it seems like at least 2 years. Ugh, it pisses me off just thinking about it. 05-mafia

Playing Devil's Advocate here:

It is very possible that this whole circus may end up being the best thing that has happened to UC basketball since Huggs was hired.

I don't believe she set the b-ball program back 4 or 5 years. I think they'll be .500 this season and a contender next season in the Big East. Mick has done a helluva job recruiting. Just pay attention to his recruiting.........everytime he moves in on a kid, Pitino and Huggs are right behind him. They know how good he is, that's why they follow him on the same kids.

Yes, we're in a tougher conference, but we will be fine. We won't dominate it.....we'll have mediocre seasons. That is the difference between CUSA and the Big East. But it means alot more to win the Big East than it ever did to win CUSA.

The b-ball program has struggled to fill immediate roster needs in most recent years.........either lacking a true PG or true Center. We typically had one or the other. Last year we had a true PG (Downey) but lacked any real size. Mick has loaded up with an arsenal at all positions. Something Huggs failed to do alot during his tenure.

I have high hopes. And while I hate what Nancy did...........I have this funny feeling that all the Nancy haters are going to have to eat crow when things turn out way better than expected.
I'll take our chances with Mick.....

sucked to loose Huggs but I'm already impressed with Micks's ability to get some kids in here in short notice and we have all seen him coach on the sidelines so I think we are going to be fine. IMO

I'm a Nancy hater, and I'll have to eat crow for nothing. If everything turns out alright it will be thanks to Mick Cronin, not Nancy Zimpher.

I always thought UC made Huggs a little tight, not so loose.

No one is going to win with the fringe players Mick has picked up and the no name recruit he maybe has got for 07. Not unless they think 10th give or take a spot in the Big East is a big deal. Hard to believe there are people who believe Nancy did the right thing and UC basketball will be alright, that it's just going to take awhile, maybe as long as 4 or 5 years. In the meanwhile I think everyone who goes to a UC basketball game is going to have Nancy looking down on them from her box and thinking what a bunch of suckers you are. Nancy will have a grand time with her OSU friends when OSU is kicking UC's ass come December. OSU is the only big time basketball program in OHIO now and will be for years to come. Take my advice and eliminate talking to any OSU basketball fan for the next several years because you ain't going to like it. Don

Wow Don...you have got to be kidding me. Yea Nancy has this secret vendetta against the Cincy program and as an O$U fan she became president here for the sole purpose to ruin Cincy basketball...that's real logical. Lol I know I can't believe all of Mick's sh*tty recruits, we will never win with him recruiting. I mean he had a whole 4 monthes to recruit the best players left for the 06 class (which their were very few), in which only 3 of them were Juco AA, I can't believe his class is only in the top 25 too, with Mick's great recruiting ability he shoulda atleast gotten a top 10 class. I can't even believe how awful his 07 class has started, I mean bringing in the #25th rated shooting guard, please, we should only bring in 4 or 5 star guys. Yea Cincy will never be good, atleast for the next couple years, and OSU will dominate us in every way. Jesus Christ Don take all your doom and gloom into a different board, you are quite ridiculous and I'm sick of your stupid posts.

How do you block posters???
I'm more than ready to root for Mick Cronin and the Cincinnati Bearcats. I quit donating to the A & S the year Huggins got fired and I don't plan to give money until Zimpher is replaced.

And no, my donations were not large but I always felt if everyone that disagreed that gave similar amounts it would eventually add up...

It would tickle Don's heart to see Mick fall flat on his face. Don't know why, but Don has always hated the hire. Think it has less to do with Huggs than it does he just think's Mick is in over his head (figuratively and literally).

I plan on attending just as many UC athletic events, if not more than in the past. I also plan on donating my hard earned money to the University, something I vowed I'd never do upon graduation.

Huggins is not, was not, the future of UC basketball. Mick Cronin is our future, and I believe it is bright under his leadership.

I am a true Bearcat fan.

I look forward to a bright future for our Bearcats also; but please check
your idiotic crow eating logic at the door.
