OSU will be dropping out of the top 25 on Monday. It has to kill OSU fans to know that they suck and we are kings of Ohio basketball. I freaking love it.
I honestly don't think most Ohio State ans care whether Cincinnati is ranked higher or is better. They just care that their team is not doing so well. And that is how it should be.

I was at teh Verizon store yesterday in Sidney, Ohio wearing my UC coat. Some "lady" who works for the town came in, looked at my coat, and said "Cincinnati sucks".

I looked at her with all the superior disdain I could muster and said "OK." She said her nephew goes to Miami and it is much better. I looked back at her, snorted, and said "At what?"

She went on about what big rivals UC and Miami are. I informed her that maybe Cincinnati is Miami's rival, but that few people if anyone at Cincinnati give a hoot one way or the other about Miami.

While I like being the top ranked team in Ohio, and have no love for Ohio State, don't be like that sad Miami fan I ran into yesterday.

Having lived in Columbus and Cincinnati I can attest to what you are saying. I think most of the people who live here in Cincinnati view all Ohio State fans like the ones they know who reside here in Greater Cincinnati. Truth be told, for the most part (with some exceptions) Ohio State fans in Columbus, Cleveland, Toeldo, Akron, etc. are not anti-UC at all. The Ohio State fans down here, OTOH, are just obnoxious about it.
I don't follow what OSU is doing, why would they care about what UC is doing?

^This. I couldn't even tell you who's a starter on the OSU squad this year with the exception of Craft.
Yay us! Yay us! And if we go down tonight, who is the best team in Ohio?

OSU will never and I mean NEVER get over the fact that we beat their super teams in the NCAA finals in '61 and '62.

Some people watch Big Ten games when UC's not on. Some watch
Toledo and Arkon.

THat premise is way over done. Half of those OSU fans are DEAD.

Hell, I'm almost gone and I was in High School for all three of the Final Fours when we beat tO$U two years running and I was a senior when we lost the game we should have won to Loyola.
I've never really felt the animosity of OSU fans towards UC fans when I wear my Bearcats gear up here in Chicago. Most of the time the conversation revolves around "what part of Cincinnati/Ohio are you from?" rather than an argument over which team is the best in Ohio.
It's the Cincy osu fans who seem to have a chip on their shoulder. I'm originally from northern ohio and the majority seem to root for all ohio based schools to do well. However, in SE ohio the pro-columbus crowd seem to turn everything into a pissing contest.
I could give two hoots if we're the best team in Ohio. This isn't high school.

I want to strive to be the best team in the nation. Period.
For 20+ years I traveled to Columbus for Army National Guard drills monthly with the exception of years my unit deployed. Having lived during those years in Akron and Cincinnati I would stay the weekend. Often when I wore Bearcat gear in the evenings I would run into obnoxious tO$U fans, many I believe lived locally and may not have ever attended the school. I work at WPAFB now and have several tO$U fans in the office (again some never attended the University, many UD grads), they make obnoxious comments and ridicule the Bearcats often trying to get under my skin...

Several years ago when the Bearcats were maKing their run under BK we traveled to Cleveland on a Friday night for a St X vs St I FB game. We stayed overnight and visited in Akron and stopped for dinner at the Amish Restaurant at exit 169 off of I-71. tO$U had an afternoon game and the place was packed with their fans, I was wearing Bearcat gear and was getting smack talked quite a bit... In my opinion and experience I have never met a more obnoxious fan base, though UK basketball fans have tried to match them they pale in comparison.

Edit: A quick note about my years in Akron, no one ever gave me any c-rap about the Bearcats there... that was a horse of a different color (24/7 about the Browns/Bengals) and those were good natured with none of the anomosity the Bearcats received.
Who cares if best in ohio..would rather be best in AAC, best in NCAA Tournament, Comparing us to osu means nothing until
they are on the schedule.
Another thread that screams little brother. Given our history, current coach, players and future players in most years we should expect to be the best team in Ohio.
tO$U is a school that doesn't share and has an insecure need to be the best at everything in the State of Ohio. They had a president who actively worked against UC and other state schools.

Yes, I do care that we are better than Ohio State.

I agree. Keep on this track and there is no need to give any other school in the state a speck of notice.

Yes there will be an occasional local recruiting battle, but that is to be expected.

Our goal should be dominating this conference (and then getting out ASAP) and being in the comparison conversation with the other teams at the very top of the high D1 conferences.

Losses only to KU and WMU. I'd say you have a very good point.

Might still be us, as well, if the loss to UL is close. NM, X and UL - would not much shame in those, even though we looked a little less than our best in the first two.
