Why do we play EMU 3 times this year? And why two in a row at our house to end the season? Both of these schedules have the same info, so it must be correct. Anyone know the back story on this?

I think the March 7 & 8 game is either/or. We either play Friday or Saturday? Not sure why, but just a guess?
My understanding is the last game will be played on one OR the other date (not on both). There are definitely NOT games on consecutive days.

We only play them twice. The end of the season is one or the other, I suppose based on what date is most convenient (going into the MACC tourney). Same thing happened last year with them, only the game was up in Ypsi.
My guess is if one of the teams, UT or EMU, has a 1st round MAC tourney game, they will play on Fri. to give them time to prep for that game. If neither team doesn't have to play until Wed./Thurs. in Cleveland, then they will play that game on Saturday.
If I'm not mistaken, I think the whole MAC has this flex schedule for the final regular season game, based on potential days off with the MAC Tournament.

One MAC game will be televised on that Friday on ESPN2. Once they determine what that game will be, they will determine the schedule for the rest of the games.
Thanks, I have never seen a schedule on ESPN with a single game listed twice like this. You figure they would just list it once and then change the date as necessary...weird.
that may finally be our home national tv hoops game. as long as we keep it up I don't see how they couldn't choose the mac's top team against one of the contenders

They had it listed that way last year too. I believe the only game that was played on Friday last year was the ESPN2 game (Akron @ Kent).

FWIW, mac-sports.com has all the games listed on Saturday 3/8. Only two games (BG @ Buffalo and BSU @ NIU) have times and aren't listed as TBD. I'd expect your game against EMU to be picked up, but the MAC does love broadcasting Kent Akron.

I would freakin' love if this happened. If we keep winning and winning, Savage could be packed for national television.
