When it's finally announced, how do you think it will stack up with those of the other conferences?

How will we know until it's announced?

-- Its really hard to speculate on what it will be because we have heard so many rumors......if the BE football deal goes back to a pre raid level and the bball deal is in the ballpark of the ACCs...most will be satisfied

I'm not sure anyone will truly know, except for inside information. Conferences don't always give out complete financials when it comes to conference contracts. The most recent PAC-10 contracts did not have financials disclosed in the press releases.

Probably because they are shite contracts with Fox Sports Net.

That might be true, but they didn't announce financials on their ABC/ESPN football deal either.

Incidentally, here's the financials from the last PAC-10 contracts signed in 1996.

ABC: 10 years/$169 (football only, no basketball contract with ABC)
FSN: 10 years/$153 (football), basketball I could not find details on but it is a completely separate contract that FSN pays rights for.

Those aren't shabby to me at all.

Do you have a link? The abc portion seems awfully high, especially when they only broadcast a handful of Pac10 games per season.

Sure.

That handful of games was 14 games per season on ABC, and 18 per season with FSN (who then recoups some of their money by selling five or six games to TBS).

The new ABC/ESPN contract is 20 games, 14 games on ABC and six on ESPN. FSN will still have 18 games to work with.

No offense to anyone here, but a "handful of games" is the four the Big East has been getting from ABC this season and last season.

Your right. The Pac 10's deal is much more impressive than I imagined. How many cusa games is abc televising.
Zero. C-USA's contract is specifically with ESPN.

The only non-BCS conference to have a game on a broadcast network is the WAC, which has one game on ABC.

All I know is that 12 years ago, we (Memphis) were not on national TV even once per decade. This season we are on FIVE national telecasts. That's progress in my book and is already paying dividends. Sure, I know that nearly everybody is on TV these days, but going from nothing to frequent is quite a difference no matter how you slice it.

Let me say that I wasn't dissing the deal C-USA has. I think it is quite a steal to have both the ESPN coverage and the CSTV coverage. The MWC can thump its chest all it wants about leaving ESPN for CSTV, but the C-USA (and subsequent Atlantic 10) deals with ESPN and CSTV are excellent.
Just for curiousity's sake I wonder what the TV deals are for the WAC, MAC and Sun Belt. I don't think I've ever seen a Sun Belt game on TV, nor do I want to.

The WAC gets about $1 million per year for football and basketball from ESPN. The MAC I believe gets about $750K and the Sun Belt gets something less.

The ironic thing about the WAC deal is that they signed their deal with ESPN about 20 days before the MWC signed their deal with CSTV.

You don't need to be such a jerk towards them. There are ACC, etc., fans who diss the Big East in this exact same manner. Obviously they are wrong, but so are you, even if the Sun Belt is the worst conference right now. They need time to grow.
Oh come off it...it's the freaking Sun Belt. Nobody wants to see Troy-North Texas. "Time to grow" or not, that's not going to change.

Troy did beat Oklahoma State or at least gave them a very good game. I won't diss anyone cause they all have a shot to win games. This is why we need a playoff system.
I watch SunBelt games on TV. I bet I'm not the only one, or the only one on this board.
i honestly never saw a sunbelt game on tv... i'm sure i would catch one just to watch a game.

Missouri thought the same thing against Troy
