I'm guessing that a lot of these just take who ever is in 1st place in the mid major conferences just slot them in. if we aren't in 1st the next time they update theirs it'll be who ever is by default.

Exactly. Guys, this is the same team many of you were excited about after four wins early and were ready to abandon after the downward spiral. We just played three of the worst CUSA teams. Yes we won. I'm thrilled because I figured we were a bottom two team. I didn't think this conference was this bad, and JJ has these guys playing at a a higher level than I thought they could. But to think that anything less than a miracle in the conference tourney gets us to,the dance is crazy. Double digit wins for this team is really good, 12 to 15 would be outstanding. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking we are better than we are. But Yes, it's fun to be in the discussion now.

We will know where we are and how much we have progressed by next Saturday. 3 of the next 4 are against the better teams of the conference and 2 are on the road. If we can go 2-2 or better over that stretch, I'd say we are in a decent position for the CUSA tournament is we can catch fire shooting.

I don't think any Monarch fans thinks this is a NCAA team, it's just fun seeing our name at the top of the leader board. After seeing FAU handily beat a very good Harvard team last night. That makes me feel a little better about the win at FAU and beating them without our leading scorer. I think it's tough to look down the bench and see who's picking up those +18pts that Bacote brings, but they did it. Throw your wet blanket on us, but I'm enjoying watching Monarch basketball this year and that's a nice change from last year.

I'm predicting 18-13 with a conference record of 12-4. It’s doable.

I would love it, but I don't think we will come close to that.

I do think we can go with only four more loses. To do so, we only have to win two games that or really questionable. The others, I think we should win.

So I see it 18-13, worst case 16-15.

I guess CUSA is a "mid major" right now, until we do something to change that.

He has two from CUSA with USM being an at large. Tonight's game is very big for several reasons, not the least of which is restoring some luster to our beloved program.

If you really want to see an exploded world, I'd rather see ODU playing Xavier in that bracket...

As early as it is, it's just nice being in the brackets again.

Having said that, a win tonight and a winning record should put us in the discussion for some sort of postseason, even if it's in the Sure Happy Imina Tournament, or whatever it's called...

After last season, we'll take it. Go Blue!!!

In fairness, the main (if not only reason) that ODU is in brackets right now is that they're alone in first in the conference and some pickers are taking the "if the season ended now" approach instead of the "here's how I think it'll play out on Selection Sunday" approach. If ODU actually does win the conference tournament, it'll probably do so from a higher CUSA seed, meaning an 18-20 win season, meaning a better NCAA seed.

But as pointed out, it's fun to be in the discussion again, especially since even a month ago some of us were bracing for a multi-season winter.

I think we all know that. So, even with that, it means ODU is in first place.
